thx for advice. i have been using UM-2s via the earphone jack on ipod, but i am convinced that SQ would be better from the line out (using a pocket dock). as a result, i will need an amp to control the volume from the line out. sounds like pa2v2 may not be the best match.

The joke is the PSP's sound quality and volume level -- although I must admit that carrying around 2 portable amps to try to improve it seems a bit extremen!

That's an interesting solution. I have a PA2V2 and a Xin Supermicro. I suppose I could connect PSP to PA2V2 to Supermicro to my UM-2's -- although that seems like a big hit to portability.
