I inspected the shorter cable and the connectors and cable look exactly the same as the longer one.  Idk, will do some testing tonight.

Everyone has different tastes I guess.  I prefer the black and actually going to sell my ivory ones.

Ah man I'm so torn on whether I should buy these or not.  I already have the hd 598 AND the hd 598 se.  On top of that I already have the X1s.  I'll end up with two hd 598s and two Fidelios.

  When I listen to edm/trance, i usually turn to my Fidelio X1.  It has the bass my hd 598s lack and complements it well.  I bought the X1s for <$200 last year but looks like its pushing $250 now.  Might as well get the newer X2 instead, but it's a lot pricier.

I find my ivory hd 598 clamp to be rather loose and I don't have a particularly narrow head.   I'm thinking of upgrading my fiio e10 to a schiit magni 2 + modi 2. I also have a pair x1s and gr07 mk2.  Is it worth getting the Uber versions over the original 2s?

If you thought the hd 558s were bass light, the ad700 and q701 are lacking even more in bass.  I have the hd 598s and though bass impact is lighter than 558s, its not as light as the ad700 or q701.  I believe the beyers will have more bass.

Any tips on how to make the ear pads 'thicker' or stick out more on the 598s?  My ears tend to stick out and it gets painful touching the hard plastic.
