Traveled with this recently and really liked it. The 16gb nano has really surprised me. I love the features and size.

I've only had serious issues with sonic stage when it deleted a recording I made on my HI-MD after I tried to upload it. Thank god they've fixed that ridiculous issue.

Sony MZRH910 for recording, 5.5 gen 30 gig Ipod w/Rockbox for listening Just replaced my dead Rio Karma with the Ipod. So far so good, but I still miss the Karma.

I've been using minidisc for years now... only for recording purposes though. Currently using one of the HI-MD recorders and I love it. Tons of recording time, cheap media and the ability to upload recordings via USB. Great format for recording. Not so much for listening.

I've noticed that refurbished I-Audio X5s can be had for a nice price. Does anyone have any experience with one of their refurbs? I know a friend who has gone through a few refurbished Ipods and they've looked as good as new... just curious if the X5s have as good a reputation. Thanks much.

I went with an X5 over the zune simply because the X5 handles ogg. Great player.

I think I'm going with an X5 to replace my Karma. Looks to be a great unit.

Neither the RH10 or the 910 comes with the HD Digital amp. If you want the High Definition Digital Amp, you'll need to buy an NH1. Reports of the RH10 and 910 having the HD amp are false. Sound quality vs my Karma... I dont know. It sounds good. I play ogg on my Karma, so I can't really...
