Sennheiser MOMENTUM Review
I'd say the 840s are too trebly to be completely neutral. They got very tiring to listen to , both musically and physically. Classical music also sounds really weird , the violins just screech too much.- gnewylliw

Sennheiser HD 598 Impressions Thread
i just upgraded from soundstage-modded 555s to 598s, has anyone else done the same? I feel like the soundstage is similar, but but it is the added treble response in the 598s makes it sound wider/airier edit: not to downplay the significance of the upgrade: everything sounds clearer...- gnewylliw

Dan (judging from his sig) owns both the 650 and Momentums, while you're , I guess, relying on your memory of what they sound like. Quote:- gnewylliw

How much better are Sennheiser HD598 compared to Sennheiser HD558
Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I had to correct something here. Receivers generally use a 300-ohm or some other high-impedance resistor on the main speaker circuitry to provide a suitable output for headphones. In brief, it is in a series circuit with the headphones. Since the receiver...- gnewylliw

Shure 840 sound is very different from momentum. Much more treble oriented, while momentums have deeper bass extension.- gnewylliw

Sennheiser MOMENTUM Review
I have the brown Momentums, and there definetely is a notch at right around 4.5khz, so now I'm curious if this is an anomaly? go to http://www.audionotch.com/app/tune/ and play around with the Hz, and there's definetely a huge drop around 4.5kHz. as well, it's quite evident from the...- gnewylliw

Sennheiser MOMENTUM Review
i'm gonna pitch in and say that they are NOT proprietary connectors! i have a cable from shure srh-480 and after some whittling of the rubber, it fits right in. unfortunately, i cut right rough the S connector.. a little bit of aluminum foil patched it up. any 3.5mm to 2.5mm that is small...- gnewylliw

AKG K318... why are they so bad?
I just purchased a pair. I read a few reviews/comments around the interwebz and decided to get them. And man, are they awful.. even worse than the HTC stereo headset that came with my desirez! The bass on the akg is just non-exsistent, soundstage is awful. Does anyone else have these earphones/...- gnewylliw

Shure SE215 or UE600: Please help me.
my UE600 came in today... so I'm going to keep the ue600 and return the shures. ue600 has a very balanced sound, a little weak on the bass, but crystal mid and highs. and 40 dollars cheaper than the shures.- gnewylliw

Shure SE215 or UE600: Please help me.
omg. Best buy has the UE600 for 60 dollars. so 60 for UE600, or 100 for Se215. I'm going to make a trip down there tomorrow. I will decide outside the store and decide on one of them, and return the other. I'll post back!! edit... online only I think. Placed one for backorder.- gnewylliw
