Show us your vintage headphones!
The mdr 34, 44, 54 and 64 are really balanced little headphones. Definitely they deserve to be restored with the new pads :)- amartignano

I remember that they were almost impossible to buy already at the time. Note, I was referring to the mdr-44, not the bigger M44, which seems a very good headphones indeed :)- amartignano

I remember my original mdr44 from the 90s to have very thin (and fragile and unobtainable) earpads. Today I use portapro pads on them, they seem the most similar to the originals, although I wonder if with the maybe thinner originals there was more bass in all of these little gems.- amartignano

Show us your vintage headphones!
What a thread! 🤩 I have several, start with the Sony walkman '90s collection, here there are the Mdr-64, 54 and 44. Some days after the pic, also a Mdr-34 arrived at home. All are very good sounding, especially the 64, special mention for the cheap 34, the 44 is the more balanced, while the 54...- amartignano

Rafe's Inner Fidelity
I think that for the comments, there is a problem of different user database between innerfidelity web-site and Stereophile. Real pity they are no more.- amartignano

Rafe's Inner Fidelity
Yep, it is no more. Most reviews content is now online on Stereophile site. But: - the measurements not related to a review are not there - the complete list of measurements was not uploaded - the articles related to measurements problems and techniques were not uploaded - last wall of fame...- amartignano

And, by the way, until now at least, Tyll's and Katz's contents seem all online, and I don't see rafelifestyle contents anywhere. What a pity 🙃- amartignano

A headphone tribute goodbye to Tyll from Innerfidelity
I wish all the best for Tyll and his new adventure. In the meantime, I was worried by the new style of Innerfidelity, with two almost pure marketing post and the article about "measurements tell not all the story, how to measure emotional connection?" Oh dear... I expressed my concerns on...- amartignano

Reply to review by 'amartignano' on item 'Beyerdynamic T90 Premium Stereo Headphone'
Hi @Irsdrn, yes, the Dt880 is less coloured, more correct, but also less fun to listen to. Not an easy choice without auditioning.- amartignano

Sennheiser HD660S... Finally a successor for the HD650?
 Hd800 seems "veiled" compared to my Stax L300, even if the treble response of the Stax is smoother than the hd800 - amartignano

Sennheiser HD660S... Finally a successor for the HD650?
My two cents: I think that the Hd660S has one of the best real detail accompanied by smooth and relaxed response among the dynamic headphones I've heard in my hifi life.- amartignano

Interesting I find the bass of L300 with their pads almost perfect, at least in my symphonic listenings. This comparison post was very useful!!! Thanks @BenF- amartignano

Stax SR-L300 Impressions Thread
Very interesting! Sorry if you already explained elsewhere but... can you please tell the main differences between the L300 and L700? I just love my L300 and I'm looking for info to understand if a future upgrade will be worth the money.- amartignano

Agree. This remember me the ever lasting criticisms about Stax Lambdas plastic construction. It's practical, light and sturdy. If there was metal it would be completely unpractical.- amartignano
