The Takstar, Technical Pro, Gemini Greathon, CyberX, Qpad Thread
Anyone disappointed that nothing has really come out since 2011 to match the value these headphones give? Sure there are many great value iems always coming out, but what is out there at $50 for full-size headphones?- lolwatpear

Philips SHP9500 Discussion Thread
I got it myself and agree with much of what you said. I feel the 9500 is slightly better in all ways in terms of SQ, but I couldn't get over the fit. It's just too loose and big on the head. It's not heavy, but it just doesn't disappear on the head for me. I'd prefer velour as well. The...- lolwatpear

The Takstar, Technical Pro, Gemini Greathon, CyberX, Qpad Thread
Just got a second hi 2050 and it is better than my first ~2 or so year old one. The clamping force has been reduced so I don't feel any pressure on my head, but it won't fall off. Also, it just seems more solidly put together. Also, I purchased a superlux 681 evo and couldn't stand them...- lolwatpear

The Takstar, Technical Pro, Gemini Greathon, CyberX, Qpad Thread
Hey, I had the Hi2050's for quite a while a now. I just have a couple questions. Why do the pro80's seem to be more popular than the Hi2050's? Do people just prefer the isolation? Also, for replacement pads for the Hi2050, do those HM5 pleather/valor work well without changing the sound...- lolwatpear

Creative Sound Blaster new series Z, Zx & ZxR
did creative ever add gain options to the sound blaster Z? I sold my card awhile back, but I'm thinking of buying it again. For some reason, this was the only card that didn't have gain options which caused me some issues.- lolwatpear

Zero Audio - ZH-DX200 Carbo Tenore | ZH-DX210 Carbo Basso (Carbon & Aluminium IEM) thread
No, I bought them from US amazon for around $50. I would have probably liked them for that price, but I constantly hear bass throughout entire songs. I like some bass, but I'm easily fatigued by too much, especially bass that isn't tight. It's also difficult for me going from an over the ear...- lolwatpear

Zero Audio - ZH-DX200 Carbo Tenore | ZH-DX210 Carbo Basso (Carbon & Aluminium IEM) thread
I recently bought these, but I'm not impressed. This will remind me to not fall for the hype train again on a sub $100 iem. It isn't nearly as good as my tdk ba200. The bass is way too overpowering.- lolwatpear

TDK BA200 upgrade/side grade?
My BA200 has broken. Can someone recommend something similar to this for the price I paid for it (~$130)? I really enjoyed this iem between its sound and comfort.- lolwatpear

Connecting wires from amp to 1/4" jack?
I'm trying to figure out how to complete this unfinished amp I bought (for headphones). Everything is made except for the output, which I need to wire up. The amp is similar to this: I'm confused on how I wire up the + and - right channels and + and - left channels to a 1/4" jack...- lolwatpear

Sony MDR MA900 Impressions Thread
I came to this conclusion after purchasing it them based on reviews about how comfortable it is. I actually hardly read this thread. There's no doubt it's one of the most comfortable headphones, but I think the headband can be improved. As for the sound, I'm enjoying them. I went from the...- lolwatpear

Sony MDR MA900 Impressions Thread
I've been liking this headphone, but headband is so flawed. It doesn't keep the adjustment well at all. Also, even though it is so lightweight, the headband isn't padded enough to make it 'disappear'. It puts a noticeably pressure point on the top of my head. The cloth material just isn't...- lolwatpear

Nexus 5 Sound Quality?
With the faux sound mod (after installing a compatible kernel), I only hear distortion when I really turn the gain up high. I think mainstream manufacturers purposely handicap the loudness of their devices to prevent the chance of hearing damage, even though unlikely. So, the quality really...- lolwatpear

Sony MDR MA900 Impressions Thread
Anyone think it would be stupid going from hd 600's to these? I got my hd 600's for $300 and will get the ma900's for ~$200. I really enjoy the 600's, but I don't find them as comfortable as many have said. Also my creative z can't power them well enough, as they sounded far better on a...- lolwatpear

Sound Quality Nexus 5 v/s Iphone 4s v/s Sansa Clip+
The nexus 5 is great with my experience so far, especially if you install a custom kernel that allows faux sound mod. Then you can increase the gain to a satisfying level without any noticeable distortion. The clip zip or clip+ doesn't get loud enough for me and carrying an amp around ruins...- lolwatpear
