Maybe... but i wish the mix didn't have the same problem as every other metal album ever with bass well covered by guitars, it came out everyonce in a while but that doesn't let me hear how it actually sounds with the riffs. Any others?     ... I do not understand this, haha. I have...

Okay I must ask, as someone interested in writing metal in the future. Does anyone know of any metal bands that use an upright(double, contra) bass bowed for the actual bass line? I'm really curious as to how this could sound in metal.  In my mind it sounds pretty great haha.

Quote: I believe I was, sorry about that haha. Thats how I feel about half of sargent house, luckily for me I don't have any money. Though when I do get some, it takes all my willpower to spend it on getting my car running rather than blowing it all in one Hellomerch shopping cart.

Quote: Holy damn. That is heavy. Empros took a while to get used to, but this is going to be an instant buy. And speaking of Sargent House, Chelsea Wolfe has her new album Pain Is Beauty coming out September 3rd, you guys seemed to like my initial recommendation so I thought i'd keep you...

Funny, you guys were just talking about Agalloch but I was to lazy to look them up. Then last night I get myself to watch Jodorowsky's Fando Y Lis and while going through the IMDB board trying to figure out what the hell I had just watched someone mentions that Agolloch's The Hawthorne Passage...

So I got my DIY 2x15 bass cab/PA set up in my room next to my 15" tower speakers. Got a serious power amp for the cab as well. A lot of wiring to get them playing simultaneously but holy hell it was worth it. Just had the time of my life for like 10 minutes, quite clear for how loud it was and...

Show us your Head-Fi station at it's current state. No old pictures please...

Just got integrated my DIY 2x15 PA/bass cab into my rooms system with a 400w/channel power amp. Plus the 200w/channel sony receiver into my 15" tower speaker pair. Almost loud enough . Have to finish painting the bass cab though.

Quote:   Quote: First off yeah Evan is a ridiculously good bassist. But he was not in the band as of Planetary Duality, Autotheism is the album he is in, though he kept his bass fairly simple in it. But, that doesn't take away from the album at all, Autotheism is probably my favorite...

Quote: Hmm, you don't want to cut off anything, that would be bad. Especially low end, that wouldn't be what is hurting your hearing. try  lowering areas from from 6k to 13k, that stuff can get bad, higher than that can too but for the most part 6 - 13 should be it. Just expirement with...

Quote: Not really sure haha. The pianist had picked that for that song before i came around. I just kinda realized its quite weird. I've heard the song so many times though that is just sounds right to me. Thats the only song that uses that sound though. Most just use straight piano.
