I used rubber cement on some felt fabric I paid a quarter for at Michael's seemed to keep the fabric from getting too stiff or having super glue hardness problems. I think it was my experience in high school with various poster boards that led me to this.

Strange, my Myntz case closes but my Altoids one doesn't. I lined both the top of the Myntz case and the bottom. Did you try lining the top's sides also instead of justing lining the face of the lid? That could be why...but otherwise mine is lined with a single layer of felt on both. P.S...

Yeah. I used a Myntz case, I think you can buy them online if you have a problem finding them. They're slightly thicker than an Altoids case and allows it to close all the way.

I guess I admit I was just frustrated that everyone and their mom had some version of the iPod so I just decided I'd be different so I went out and bought something else. Though I do find the iPods visually appealing, I for one do use the extra features that people I guess typically don't use.

I used a a mint tin lined with felt and drilled a hole in the top. I needed a hard case for the crap in my backpack. Other people have found that small camera cases work too. I know someone who uses the Canon SD20/SD30 cases for their micro. A bunch of suggestions here. Creative Forums
