Can cables be repaired?
Sorry I should have done that at the start hey. I tried to solder it once but then it broke off that's why I'm thinking I need a bit of expert advice before going at it again -
Can cables be repaired?
I've got a toxic poison silver cable and it was serving me well for years until I got a pet kitten and it loves to chew, and managed to chew through the thin cross linked wires after it bifurcates to Left and Right. Is there a way to personally fix it with the right soldering / shrink wrap etc...- boirefish

It's been a month since the He-560 has arrived. They have definitely grown on me. I am by no means trying to advocate these headphones to justify the purchase, as I had a friend who would happily pay what I did for them if I did not want to keep them. The bottom line is these he560's are...- boirefish

Definitely would like to see a audeze/HFM hybrid. On the glass half full side, I can justify keeping both for now since they're both so unique. Yep! Despite all their accomplishments, these men have nowhere near the level of enthusiasm and aspiration as their younger selves. They...- boirefish

20 hours burn in he560 update I think my mind has been burned in moreso than the headphones themselves. I also turned both my he560 and lcd-2 on loud and listened to their predominant resonance side by side without actually putting them on - this isn't an indicator of how they should sound...- boirefish

Yeah, I've noticed the bass standing out on some tracks as well. Usually if there is substantial bass, then the he560 will reproduce it well. If it's suble, then they won't give you that spine tingling background-rumble.- boirefish

I'm listening by plugging both into my NFB10.32 with the dir9001 chip filter 1 now, and the bass is more succinct on the HE560 compared to the LCD-2. For fast tracks with orchestral + digital + vocal, ie. anime theme music, bass would be clear but slightly recessed on the he560, and present but...- boirefish

Just received my he560 today. It was a demo version so may have had some burn in previously. Comparing with the lcd 2.2 unfazored, it may require more burn-in, but overall the sound signature is quite different to the lcd's. Both of these headphones have been run through my burson conductor...- boirefish

Burson Conductor - DAC/amp successor to the HA-160D
Just received my unit. Zero burn in and listening at the moment. I can already hear distinct superiority to the NFB10SE I run on balanced. Can't wait to hear this baby after 100-200 hours of burn in- boirefish

Burson Conductor - DAC/amp successor to the HA-160D
Sorry in advance if my terminology/understanding is really bad, it's all been acquired through here and sparse internet articles. Question: when the Tenor chip does function appropriately, does it do its job effectively, or would a USB/SPDIF converter still be recommended on top? I...- boirefish

Burson Conductor - DAC/amp successor to the HA-160D
Thanks! I'll be frequenting this home thread for a while since I don't plan on upgrading anytime soon. Curiously, with the dacs mentioned that outperform the conductor, do any much-appriased giant killers like the anedio d1/2, yulong da08 or matrix x-sabre hold their own or even better the...- boirefish

REVIEW - Yulong Audio Sabre DA8 Reference DAC
I've finally finished scrolling through all the posts and glad everyone is enjoying their DA8's. Contemplating getting one solely for my LCD-2 rev 2's, but the only issue is how the amp component compares. Ideally I'd like to spend no more than $1500, so I was tossing up between getting the...- boirefish

A good electronics forum for selling stuff like the new ipad?
Sorry for the double post - it was in comment to the ipad thread, and then I realised it might be better here. Anyone know where I could sell my 16gb ipad 3 4g, without going through the ridiculous $50 ebay fees? I have a unit, but people in Australia don't seem to be interested whatsoever...- boirefish

iPad 3 anticipation
Hey guys, I'm actually looking to sell my 16gb ipad 3 4g, although prices are pretty bad in australia. Where's a good place to list the item, or forums where interest might be attracted? I noticed they're still fairly well priced in America atm, so an american trading forum sounds good?- boirefish
