Dekoni Fidelio X2 Choice Pads!
I kept my old x1, as i found x2 treble not to my liking and a bit tinny but if these dekoni pads could reduce the muddiness in the x1 it would be perfect for me. Can anyone suggest what would be best or just wait for dekoni to bring out the velour pads? Or if there is another pad someone could...- Bradley

Koss Pro DJ 100 - The Budget King
Does anyone know if the german maestro 8.35 pads fit the koss. I prefer the sound of the koss pads over m50s even though sound quality is better with m50s but the pads goes hard after a while ? anyone have any suggestions for a comfortable pad that still sounds like the koss original pads ?- Bradley

Koss PRODJ100: Headphones by which all others must be judged!
Just tried the BT540i pads with my DJ200 as the pads are much higher quality. Unfortunately no joy. Although the quality is better and comfort a vast improvement on the DJ200 the sound is harsh. M50's still the most comfortable but I prefer the sound signature on the Koss pads. With the M50 pads...- Bradley

Philips Fidelio X1 | Review & Comparison
I tried the X2 cable on my X1 and now the bass is much tighter as it should have been first time around. I actually prefer this set up to the new X2's. Has anyone tried this yet and if so let me know your thoughts on the differences.- Bradley

Philips Fidelio X2 : A Review by Baycode
Maybe. I've read that any low impedence cable would work but it's not that simple. So far I've tried my other sons aviator cable, the Fisual S-Flex cable and Koss Pro DJ200 cable. They do improve the bass but they lose the smoothness of the Fidelio cables. I don't own a high quality custom cable...- Bradley

Philips Fidelio X2 : A Review by Baycode
Yeah I think comparisons make it very difficult depending on what headphone signature you have been listening to and like you say brain burn in takes a little while. I find now it's best to listen to one headphone for a while and then see which you prefer.- Bradley

Philips Fidelio X2 : A Review by Baycode
My son has the Sennheiser HD558 and to my ears the X2 sounds similar but with a larger soundstage and a little more mid bass. Compared to the X1 both the HD558 and the X2 just sound a little hollow so yeah probably the mid bass.- Bradley

Philips Fidelio X2 : A Review by Baycode
Thanks Mizodology your comment was short and sweet. It really made me laugh : ) No I liked the X2 but I think the X1 with the X2 cable sounds more fun. Plus the clamping force is more even and more comfortable so I prefer the X1.- Bradley

Philips Fidelio X2 : A Review by Baycode
Let me apologise first off. I'm not an audiophile so my descriptions might be miss leading, as I can only use laymans terms. I've not seen any graphs but when I look at my equalizer it sounds like upper tremble is less and around 4hz seems less on the X2. I read that soundstage is better on the...- Bradley

Philips Fidelio X2 : A Review by Baycode
Listened to the X2 again after 10 hours of burn in. The X2 vocals are less present than on the X1, so I'm finding the X2 cable on the X1 is the best combination to my ears. Everyone has mentioned the miss match of the X1 cable, well the X2 cable fixes that problem and now the bass is as it...- Bradley

Philips Fidelio X2 : A Review by Baycode
Sorry don't wear caps, but my head circumference is 23.7 inches. The clamping force is not uncomfortable but just tighter than the X1. The X1 clamp evenly around my ear but the X2 has more tension at the bottom of the ear, which is less comfortable for me, but with a larger head that would even...- Bradley

Philips Fidelio X2 : A Review by Baycode
Got the X2's today. Bass is tighter than X1. The whole sound is more balanced and refined but I'm sad to say that the clamping force is a little to strong and headband is now huge. I still prefer the warmth of the X1's even though the sound isn't has refined but to my ears more fun. Will leave...- Bradley

AKG K550 vs Koss pro dj 100 / 200
I know what you mean about the stock pads they have a warmer sound to the M50 pads. I prefer the sound too but stock pads were just a little to uncomfortable. You can try putting some sponge or tissue paper inside and under the pads to provide more space for your ears, which improves the sound...- Bradley

AKG K550 vs Koss pro dj 100 / 200
Have you got an amp for the DJ100 and the M50 pads ? as it sounds so much better with an amp, They provide an improvement worth spending. I use the PA2V2 which sounds great with the DJ100. I've heard headphones that are better than the DJ100 but they usually cost at least £150 - £300 plus. It's...- Bradley

AKG K550 vs Koss pro dj 100 / 200
The AKG's are quite nice but they have less bass than the Koss Pro DJ100. In my opinion the DJ100 is much better but only with the M50 pads. I tried the Philips Fidelio X1 and they sounded GREAT, similiar but more like it's big brother. Larger soundstage, more bass warmth and much smoother...- Bradley

Should I upgrade or not? Sony MDR-V6 vs. Turtle Beach x12
I have the Sony V6 and although the sound quality is better, my son's Turtle Beach X12 were pretty good, so V6 not worth the extra money IMO. Check out the Koss Pro DJ100 with the M50 pads. Message tdockweiler for advice, he's very knowledgeable and helpful.- Bradley

Koss PRODJ100: Headphones by which all others must be judged!
I'm glad your trying the Pro700 markII pads, I've been wondering about those for a while now. How do they compare to the M50s and Koss pads for sound and comfort ? Since making those dame holes I can't listen to anything with to much volume. Thanks for the suggestion on the 3M micropore...- Bradley
