The Official Beyerdynamic T1 Impressions and Discussion Thread
Just don't bother with the receiver. I remember trying a pair of DT880/600 a long time ago on a decent Pioneer receiver and music sounded like music with alien invasion in the background. You should look into getting a headphone amp. You could try something like the Matrix M-Stage as a starter...- NuclearCrap

The Official Beyerdynamic T1 Impressions and Discussion Thread
Thanks, I'll definitely keep an eye out. Everyone keeps raving on about how well the WA2 pairs with the T1, but if the Glenn can somehow manage the same level of synergy, it seems like the way to go. :) EDIT: On an unrelated topic, has anyone had any success with leather pads...- NuclearCrap

ATH-M50 for $87.74 @ Guitar Center
Quote: I wouldn't email if I were you. The folks who work that system have nothing to gain by helping you score a deal, whereas a salesperson in a store would get commission. Hell, don't even bring the ad for them to examine over. It would only make it easier for the salesperson to bring...- NuclearCrap

ATH-M50 for $87.74 @ Guitar Center
Quote: By "authorized" they only want stores that sell the item directly, meaning that if it's Amazon then it has to be shipped and sold by Amazon. As long as it's not an individual selling it, they consider it authorized, otherwise they wouldn't have matched CandySave. Besides, why...- NuclearCrap

If you had $300 to spend on headphones...
I agree. I have both the DT880/250 and the M50 and I haven't heard anything that's as balanced as the DT880 for a similar price. Compared to the M50, the DT880 has less but quicker, more defined bass (quality > quantity). The M50 doesn't hold a candle to it when listening to acoustic instruments...- NuclearCrap

ATH-M50 for $87.74 @ Guitar Center
Thought I'd contribute a little after lurking for so long. As you guys may know, CandySave sells some questionable M50 headphones, and I wasn't going to buy from them knowing the risks. However, I dropped by Guitar Center today and saw the M50 in stock, so I took a chance and try to get them to...- NuclearCrap
