Best all-round IEM for around $100; for musical listening

I listen to a large variety of music. Primarily progressive and alternative rock (Floyd and Radiohead) but also Indie Rock, New-Wave Techno, and a lot of Hip-Hop. Sound wise: Looking for fun-sounding, forward V-shaped sound; but don't want some bass dominating IEM, an analytical sound would...

Sony MDR1RBT vs Philips Fidelio M1BTBL/00 vs Sony MDR10RBT Wireless Headphones Comparison?

Sony MDR1RBT vs Philips Fidelio M1BTBL/00 vs Sony MDR10RBT Wireless Headphones Comparison?

Mods are welcome to delete/lock my other thread. I feel I have streamlined my question now and can provide a clearer thread title, in which I'd love some direct comparisons.  Prices I can get them for: >MDR1RBT: £220/$355~ I feel these are proportionately overpriced? >M1BTBL/00: £155/$250...

(Poll) Best Wireless Headphones for around $300? (Senn. RS180 vs. Soundmagic WP10 vs. Sony MDR1RBT vs. Others)

It's going to be a pretty much even split between at home, walking around, school library (it's not particularly quiet, hence why open headphones will be fine) and I will be weightlifting in the gym with them about 6 hours a week. Have broken 3 headphones and IEMs, all via: cable caught in bike...

(Poll) Best Wireless Headphones for around $300? (Senn. RS180 vs. Soundmagic WP10 vs. Sony MDR1RBT vs. Others)

I listen to almost exclusively hip-hop, but it certainly isn't bass dominated and has lots of orchestral highs places throughout. So I guess I'm looking for a balanced sound. I am unsure as to whether I want Closed or Open headphones. Closed would be a slight advantage; however, aren't...

IEMs and Headphones with Detatachable Cables: please recommend between $50-$200

    This for example: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fisual-S-Flex-Mini-3-5mm-Cable/dp/B00B3VNLTC/ref=sr_1_8?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1406572724&sr=1-8&keywords=replacement+headphone+cable

IEMs and Headphones with Detatachable Cables: please recommend between $50-$200

Ah OK. I thought you had to buy specific cables for every manufacturer. So in most cases a basic $10 male to male 3.5mm auidio jack will work. Is there a noticeable difference between a $15 and $40 cable?

IEMs and Headphones with Detatachable Cables: please recommend between $50-$200

OK, that makes sense thanks.   I presume the main benefit of a detachable cable is that, when broken, a new one can be purchased without requiring the full replacement of the earphones, thus also decreasing the chance of the headphone breaking as if there's pressure/tugging on the wire, it...

IEMs and Headphones with Detatachable Cables: please recommend between $50-$200

They're not on sale in the UK, but I can get some eBay imports.  Are these the right things, and how much are they meant to cost proportionately?  The IM50s are $82 vs $130 for the IM70s (assuming a lower offer is accepted)...

IEMs and Headphones with Detatachable Cables: please recommend between $50-$200

Having realized that after breaking 5 headphones and IEMs I've realized that 4 of these have been me either snapping the cable, or breaking the jack on the end of the cable. Conclusion: I need a decent pair of headphones and IEMs with detatchable cables so I can easily buy new cables. > I...

Is it worth buying accidental damage protection/warranty on headphones and earphones?

I've broken my last 6 pairs, usually while weightlifting at the gym or while cycling. I've broken 2 pairs of headphones, including my Creative Aurvana Lives, while at the bar (barbell hit audio jack= broken jack). Yesterday I was cycling to my friends with my Soundmagic e10s, I dismounted...

Bass-heavy rivals to the Soundmagic e10 IEMs for a similar price? (Brainwavz M2?)

I had some CALs, but I was foolish and sadly broke them. I heard some soundmagic e10s and surprisingly really liked the sound. Before I purchase them, are there any other similar sounding rivals, either cheaper, or better for a similar price? THanks.

Entry level Closed Cans in the UK

Out of interest why are you selling them if you like them so much? Do you just have no use for them in your current headphone collection? I am considering buying the CALs. How would you describe the sound? Are they more bass-focused, or treble focused? Would you call them aggressive or laid...

Portable headphones around $90: Creative Aurvana Live vs. JVC HA-S680 vs. Others? Need hard but TIGHT bass, with a sharp+engaging instrumentals/lyrics

-Firstly, is there a high risk that I'll have to pay a tonne of customs importing the HA-S680s from Japan to the UK? I've been planning on buying the CALs for a few months now, but I also realized I can get the JVCs for $88 too, which would you recommend, or perhaps others? I listen to...

Need some <$100 portable headphones for Eminem (rap) and Nu Metal, would like: tight but strong bass with sharp highnotes/good clarity

Thanks, how do these compare to the Creative Aurvana Live headphones? Also I used to the Phonak Audeo PFE-012 which I liked; how does the soundstage of them compare?

They look pretty hard to get in the United Kingdom, but thanks I'll check them out. The UK has most popular/decent headphones.

Need some <$100 portable headphones for Eminem (rap) and Nu Metal, would like: tight but strong bass with sharp highnotes/good clarity

Hi, I have some JVC HA-M750s for $50, they were decent, although somewhat lacking in general, and they're broken now. I currently have some Sony MDR 570LPs for $45. The are ok, but the sound is sloppy and weak, far too laid back. They lack any strong bass and the high notes (like violins...

Thanks for the help, looks like I'm going to have to compromise and get a K81/M750 (I'm only a poor teenager), anything will be a massive upgrade over my second. What are the primary differences between these two headphones (e.g. bass, clamp ability and general soundstage). This will be my...

I'm looking to buy my first $50+ pair of headphones, I will be primarily using them for dubstep>hip-hop>rock>techno>Team Fortress 2 (FPS Game). So as you can see, I need a fairly all-round (bass heavy for my type of music (dubstep,hip-hop and rock?) I created a shortlist of the best...
