Took a look at a K1000 last night; the cable terminated in a 1/4" plug. On the cable was written "cable manufactured for AKG."   I assume that all K1000s originally had an XLR termination, so I'm wondering what outfit would likely have performed this job, using cable "manufactured for AKG."...

The soft felt part of the headband on my DT911s just broke off, in the exact same way and place that it did on my DT801s. In both cases, the inner plastic part of the piece to which the felt is attached has broken on one side, with the result that the felt piece is now loose and is no longer...

I have read through many, if not most, of the meatiest AKG 40x through 70x threads here, and am leaning towards the 501s (or possibly the 601s) as the phones which strike the best balance between affordability and suitability for the purpose for which I intend to acquire them (if only...
