Just purchased the Onkyo DP-X1 and it'll be my main DAP for my 2 year K10's (which still sound as great as ever)   now i'm thinking of getting a balanced cable to match the setup above, any recommendations?

The zx1 is definitely better overall in terms of resolution and overall details of the audio. It still remains my favorite overall DAP. I have to say the note 5 is no slouch, when ur just listening to the music and you don't analyse it comes in pretty close to the Sony. I'm really surprised...

After much thinking I've decided that I do not need the noble BTS, hence that made me want it even more and thus I've placed my order.....I'm sure it'll go well with my K10's

I feel exactly the same way, previously I'd look for every nuance.... Now I just enjoy the music and my K10's still surprise me Everytime..... Its just pure joy
