Quote: Although I may be a 15-year old guy I went through the phase of cool headphones, But the reason I got them was because I was tired of my ibuds or $10 replacements that broke in about 3 months. Then I got skullcandy hesh headphones and those lasted about 4 months at home and 1 month...- impaledface

Since the Skullcandy's were a bust...
I like my sennheiser hd 438s and I listen to metal like as your name metallica, overkill, megadeth and some powermetal and they work fine. i used my friends sr80i and those are also great for metal not any better then my 438s but that is just my opinion. The sr80is I consider have punchy bass...- impaledface

Sennheiser HD 438's as gaming headphones?
I have them and I know they are great sounding headphones, but I don't know for gaming headphones. They have good bass and good treble for the explosions and gunfire or foot steps, I just haven't used them for gaming. I use mine for on the go headphones. Oh also very durable. and comfy. They...- impaledface

Ok, it's my turn now, and I need some guidance. Full sized HPs for "on the go".
I use my sennheiser hd 438s for outside I like them. They come with a 1.2m detachable cable and a 3m cable also sound very nice.A little cheaper then those listed but still very nice.- impaledface

++ FULL-SIZE HEADPHONE RECOMMENDATIONS THREAD++ CLOSED: Please post a thread in the Introductions, Help and Advice forum
I have the hd438s and they sound great for my rock/metal music. The only thing you have to realise is that they need a fairly long burn in time 40-80hours or more. My hd438s have as you want pretty clear accurate bass compared to some other cheaper headphones. Also You don't need an amp I got a...- impaledface

Should I get skullcandy Skullcrushers or somthing else
I wouldn't get skullcandy products. Why? I had skullcandy hesh and they sound ok BUT there durability is nothing. Also they aren't comfy really. All they do is look good lol. I would look at sennheiser hd4xx series for portable(not really but mid-size) or the sennheiser px series. I have the...- impaledface

sennheiser hd 438 review
Alright I have had my hd 438s for about 5 months and they have held up beatifully. They have lasted being thrown in a plastic bag and put into a backpack and walking around campus. The sound quality definately requires a burn in. I would say the burn in is 40-60+ hours of play. When my...- impaledface

Amp needed for Sennheiser HD438?
The quality from sound improves if you go with cds. I had 1,000 songs from limewire but they went out of business or something and half of my songs were bad sounding mp3 files or worse so I deleted them. Then purchased a bunch of cds and put it in apple loseless format and know they sound great...- impaledface

I first started with cheapy ipod headphones then went to the skullcandies because they were at target. They were still a great improvement from the ipod earbuds.
