    Picked up a pair of 1959 Amperex Bugle Boy D Getter 6DJ8 tubes.

    Decided to try a rectifier tube also. RCA and Philips (Amperex). Ordered some blumenstein audio speakers as well.

    I ordered some NOS tubes for my amp. I purchased a pair of Mullard Blackburn UK 1963 EL 84 tubes and a Mullard CV2492 from 1962-1964 Mitchum UK factory. Currently using stock tubes on taboo mk iii.

    When I had these AKG's, I remember telling myself one day, "Wow, they're actually quite warm and bass came out a little more"...but I had forgotten I messed with the eq settings a few days earlier. Great headphones.

    AKG 701 or Shure 940 for clear headphone for vocals, classical and acoustic?

    The AKG is a very good headphone, and especially good in the areas you mentioned. Highly recommended.
