WASAPI not working with Winamp
Hello there, I still can't figure out what to do. One thing that was a solution to many people with my problem was to go to to Sound > Speaker Properties > Advanced and check off both boxes, since they hadn't been earlier, but it's still not working for me. I've also tried running WASAPI off of...- tangelo

WASAPI not working with Winamp
Hi everyone. I'm trying to use WASAPI on a laptop using Winamp and a TubeMagic D1 connected via USB but nothing will play at all. When using the preinstalled DirectSound or WaveOut dlls everything works fine. I've tried changing the buffer size and using exclusive mode but neither changes...- tangelo

Accidentally destroyed K701 housing
I don't really want to buy new K701 replacement parts because then I'll just feel stupid having used $XX and having the same thing I started out with. Could I just get an HD600 enclosure or something of the like and just like, glue the K701 drivers in or something? As far as the housing material...- tangelo

Accidentally destroyed K701 housing
So basically, I severed the two metal arches at their bases that hold the headphones together. Please don't ask why, that is in the past now. Anyway, I gorilla glued the arches back on to the remaining stubs and it seems to be working decently, but the clamping force is much too weak and I was...- tangelo

Skullcandies that are actually good?
I used to own a pair of Smokin' Buds and they were not bad at all. The sound was pretty good, bass was a little overwhelming and the highs were rolled off, but definitely a few steps above iBuds. After going on here and reading about all these people bashing Skullcandy I bought a pair of...- tangelo

ASIO4ALL and Winamp?
Hi, trying to use ASIO4ALL with Winamp. I downloaded ASIO4ALL then moved the DLL to Program Files (x86)>Winamp>Plugins but ASIO4ALL is not showing up in the Output plug-ins. I've tried putting the DLL in just the Program Files (x86)>Winamp but still no good. I'm using the 64-bit version of...- tangelo

AKG K702 Improvements
+2 on K702 with the Maverick D1 Just be sure to change the opamps (a common setup is LT1364 for the DAC and LM4562 for the amp) otherwise it will sound (too) bright.- tangelo

Hanging the K701
Yeah, it doesn't really matter how you hang it. Actually no, it doesn't matter at all. The hanger looks nice- tangelo

One of my ear canals is bigger than the other?
Yes, it is slightly frustrating once you realize it . I'm still wondering, does anyone know of any software/hardware that can change the channel balance?- tangelo

One of my ear canals is bigger than the other?
Well actually, I was inquiring more about headphones, rather than IEMs. The difference in ear canal is slightly annoying for the fit, but the sound is pretty much equal for left and right; unlike when I'm using headphones, in which the right channel is louder than the left due to the difference...- tangelo

One of my ear canals is bigger than the other?
Er actually, I'm not sure the Windows method worked... I was listening to some classical to test it and I thought it was working. However, I just played a sine wave to verify it (I assume the output is equal for both channels) and the right still seems louder. I then set the right channel to 0...- tangelo

I do have an outboard DAC, but the Windows solution seems to be working. This was surprisingly easier than I expected. Thanks.- tangelo

One of my ear canals is bigger than the other?
Wasn't exactly sure which forum to put this in. Anyway, after receiving my Etymotic MC5 and trying them on I came to the startling realization than my right ear canal is a good deal larger than my left ear canal. The fit was much tighter on my left ear than the right. It was also at this time...- tangelo

What's the deal with amplifier hiss?
Yes, the output for all programs is at 100% (disabled volume control in Winamp since I would accidentally lower it sometimes).- tangelo

What's the deal with amplifier hiss?
Wait so, the main thing I still don't understand is how there is less hiss on the Macbook and zero hiss on the Fuze... a problem with the DAC could cause that? I always assumed it was something with the power since the Fuze and Macbook are more or less portable and my computer has a big ol' PSU...- tangelo

What's the deal with amplifier hiss?
Quote: Yes, I'm actually using one right now, the Turtle Beach Audio Advantage Micro. The pathway goes like computer>Turtle Beach>optical out>D1. I tried using both USB and optical, but noticed no difference in hiss/sound quality between the two. Since I had already bought the Turtle...- tangelo

What's the deal with amplifier hiss?
So you're telling me something like this http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2062214 will get rid of all hiss with no degradation in sound quality? Also, suppose removing one USB device did reduce the hiss... is there a problem with that device and I should buy a new one? Like...- tangelo

What's the deal with amplifier hiss?
Thank you for the article, it has a lot of helpful information. As for your question, the hiss has been there ever since I bought the unit. Only recently did I try the device with my Fuze/friend's Macbook, which was when I noticed the reduction in hiss compared with my home computer. When I...- tangelo

What's the deal with amplifier hiss?
Could you explain the principle behind a ground loop? I've looked it up before but I'm still a little foggy on what exactly it is and how to fix it. Also, I have tried it through different USB ports on my computer but I think that it's just that all of them aren't very good. If I upgraded to a...- tangelo
