HD600! Wow!
Quote: That's good to hear. I was actually about to buy the DT990/600 but the ebay auction I bid on got just a bit out of my price range. I ended up finding my HD600's for sale here on head fi for a great price and decided to go with them instead.- Traeger2591

HD600! Wow!
Quote: I actually really like the marble look alot. It's different and it kinda distinguishes them from other cans imo. To each his own tho Quote: I plan on keeping these for a long time. I'm in love with them. And yeah I was thinking about picking up like a stock HD650...- Traeger2591

HD600! Wow!
Wow, so I hooked them up to my amp (just a denon receiver) and they sound even better! I still can't stop smiling! Haha. The soundstage opened up immensely, and the treble and bass both now are just amazing. These definitely make my M50's sound boring haha. I love these cans! Every track I have...- Traeger2591

HD600! Wow!
Quote: Wana trade? Haha jk. But no, you make a great point. I completely agree. I wasn't expecting my HD600's to sound this great. You can't really judge something just by what the majority of people say. Quote: I will be going home tonight for the weekend. I'm sure...- Traeger2591

HD600! Wow!
Haha idk about the 650's. I think if I ended up trying a new pair of cans I'd look at another brand besides Sennheiser just to try something new. Not sure if I'd like the 650's though. From what I've read, it seems like they're darker and idk if I would like that. I'm perfectly content with the...- Traeger2591

HD600! Wow!
Right now I just have a Denon stereo receiver, but I'm considering buying a dedicated headphone amp. I was looking at the new audio gd nfb-12. I don't really have the funds for it though right now, and I have been satisfied from my receiver so far. With higher quality headphones, I'm sure it...- Traeger2591

HD600! Wow!
Haha I know, tell me about it. I honestly was expecting, a meh sound straight from my computer. Somehow I think these sound better unamped than my M50's. Granted they can't go as loud, but the quality is amazing. I feel like a noob for being amazed without an amp haha.- Traeger2591

HD600! Wow!
Well today I got my HD600's in the mail that I have been anticipating for awhile. I bought them used off the forums here after selling my HD555's for a want of something better. All I have to say is WOW. These are way better and different than what I was expecting. After reading about...- Traeger2591

what to get.... hmmmm SRH750, SRH550, ath-m50 ,crossfades, beats, bose
Congrats on the purchase. Hopefully you like them. Don't listen to people who say they sound bad cause they sound great. At least from a portable source, which is how I demoed them. I can only imagine them sounding better with a better source. When I listened they sounded great with Rock and...- Traeger2591

Hey, I have some new info you might like to know. I saw a friend the other night and he had some 750's around his neck, I was like hey can I try those out. So I gave them a listen. IMO, they sound a bit better than the M50's. But I'm not going to buy them. Why? They are not comfortable at all on...- Traeger2591

I've read some stuff about that too. Most likely it was just the box. I just got my M50's for Christmas and I'm loving them. Definitely give them a try.- Traeger2591

Those shure 940's look nice, but the 550's look like a bad choice IMO. They look like your ears will hit the drivers and cause discomfort, the headband doesn't look any better than the 440's (which was uncomfortable after about 45 minutes), and the cable doesn't look to promising. 750 didn't...- Traeger2591

I don't seem to find M50 slow at all. I find them just right for rock type music. They have great bass and the treble is also great sounding on them. I don't listen to metal or very hardcore rock though so I can't help you there. I think for your type of music M50 would be great. However, you...- Traeger2591

Quote: Thanks, I was also feeling the same about the DT990's. Lot's of bass and treble. Thanks for the info about the 580's. I was mostly interested in them because they are very similar to 600's but cheaper. I would almost prefer a warmer sound. Would the 555's be considered a warm...- Traeger2591

I'm looking to get a new pair of open headphones and I wanted to get some opinions from everyone on here. I currently have M50's and HD555's (soundstage and foam tape modded) and am thinking about getting rid of the HD555's for a better open headphone. I liked the HD555's alot but just...- Traeger2591

DT770 vs HD555(FM) and HD280Pro
You might like the DT770 though. When I listened to them (briefly) I thought they had a nice sound. It was airy and the cans were very comfy. Similar to the m50 but with a better soundstage I would say.- Traeger2591

DT770 vs HD555(FM) and HD280Pro
Well if closed back is a must, I would recommend the D2000 as well. M50 can be had for a little bit cheaper and I enjoy mine quite a bit. I didn't care for the SRH-440 but you might like the 840. 440 Was quite uncomfortable after about 30 mins of use and the sound quality was mediocre.- Traeger2591

$100-$150, closed ear
For your price range M50 and Shure are probably the most common, as people have already mentioned. I would avoid the 440's though. They are much more UNcomforatble that the M50's. Try out the 840's though.- Traeger2591

HD650 - Did I make a mistake? :(
I would also suggest trying an amp. I've read alot about audio gd, specifically the FUN and it seems to work great with the hd650's. Just what I've read though.- Traeger2591

Amp for M50
Also interested in this. I agree they sound great unamped, but another option might be something from audio gd? Perhaps the nfb-12 or FUN?- Traeger2591

Open Headphone Suggestions
Well I just got a pair of M50's this Christmas and now they have me wanting to replace my old hd555's. I've modded and played around with the senns but I just want something thats, well, better. I've been looking at the dt990/250 and 600, and the hd600. I've searched a ton around on here, but I...- Traeger2591
