I had an NFB10.33., which was the Wolfson 8740 version of the NFB 28. I purchased it for the sole purpose of being a preamp/DAC in my stereo. It replaced a $2,000 preamp and $500 DAC. The Audio GD sounded better than that $2,500 combo.nothing to worry about there

I'm curious about this as well. Is the NFB-1 combo superior or would one be merely paying for the extra chassis over the price of the 28?

After only 4 hours of use, I'm probably sending my Jot with DAC module back. It's a quality product, but just not what I'm looking for. If anyone wants mine let me know soon.

That is exactly who I bought it from. The cable works and uses quality parts. I'm the last one to claim that a properly made cable makes it sound better or worse.    Edit: He took forever to ship. 6 days. But I didn't give a damn at all because... well you all know why... 

I'm going to be of absolutely zero help here. I didn't even try the unbalanced cable. I ordered the balanced cable and Schiit Jot the day after I ordered the cans. I feel like if you have an amp and phones that can be connected with a "balanced" cable, then why not do it? The cost of the cable...

I listen to a lot of electronic music. Dubstep and chillstep. The bass is adequate. They are not bass heavy. But if you turn it up, the slam is there and they dig deep enough to the point where you can feel the physical vibration in the pads.

Ive shipped a package with FedEx once where the destination was 3 miles from the origin, both in NYC. The package went to Tennessee and back to NY. Stuff like that happens.

Just received my Jot with dac. The driver install was a pain. The auto setup from Schiit's website didn't work. I had to use Windows device manager to install the driver.   I have a pair of LCD-2f on the way. However with my foam modded HD558, I can't hear any difference vs the tiny cheap...

The difference between 1mW and 1 watt  is only about 30dB. With the LCD-2, that would be about 130dB with 1w. From there, another 4 watts would get you half way to 140dB. They state 15w would get you >130dB, but if their 101dB/1w is accurate, 15w would be over 140dB. That is insane.    If...
