How do these compare to the RE262?

PL50s are good, but bass is a little weak.  I like the buds to "explode" during explosions.  Brainwavz is good too

Does anyone else have skipping with their iPod classics?  Sometimes when I'm on the bus or subway, I hear skipping when my songs are playing.  I always assume its because its hard drive based, but now I'm wondering if its because my ipod is defective.  Anyone else have this problem?

I dunno about that, Apple considerably undercuts every other tablet due to full control of its supply chain.  As far as I know, the lowest iPad model is considerably cheaper than tablets with similar specs, and the iPad has the built in "brand" value.  Trust me, I'm no Apple fanboy, but they...

The only worth the fakes are is to show off to random people on the street.  I imagine the drivers are all different, and most people don't even think the real ones sound all that great for the price.  If there's a sound signature you like, I'm sure the regulars can give you multiple suggestions...

Steve jobs hype machine.  In all seriousness, Apple makes pretty solid products with nice styling.  Portable music isn't what it is now without Apple's influences.  We all know things started out with companies like Rio, but mp3 based media blew up with Apple

Different devices, different uses.  If you are going to use the device primarily for music, go for the touch.  iPad def for everything else  

Sennheisers have good bass, like cx500
