Compared to my 2010 MacBook Pro 17", the MacBook Air 13" (2012) has (comparatively) superb SQ. With my SE535's I got a lot of hiss from the MBP17, with the Air very little. Was a pleasant surprise - was quite similar to the level of hiss I get with the iPod Classic (latest gen).

I have a pair of Shure SE535's and before that Shure SE115's which cost about £100. I'd just stuff them in my bag, leave them hanging out of pockets. I really abuse my headphones. I never really worry about them getting stolen as I've always got them on me, or attached to an iPod classic.

Hmm, well after a few days I've noticed that they seem to have an issue (mostly with the left ear) that sounds like they're slightly loose in the connection between the detachable cables. It makes a slight crunching noise (like stepping on gravel) I'm not really sure what the appropriate term...
