How did you power the MEMS?

Ooh I like this type of tuning. Listen to it yourself and see if you can hear it, personally I usually keep those peaks since I can't hear them.

Ooh that is very interesting. Where did you buy the round ones?

Can you test a random IEM? Any one will do just to see if it is leaking. If you're using the original soundcard that came with the IEC711 it shouldn't need calibration.

What's your measurement setup? I'm pretty sure the 2ohm parallel resistor is ruining the measurements.

Ah sorry you need to low pass the 31618, I'm not sure of your tube lengths, but purely guessing, you can try using something like 20ohms in series, and 68uf in parallel. I usually trial and error this part lol

Perhaps try flipping the polarity of the HODVTEC, though I would still prefer to use a series resistor here instead of a parallel one.

2 ohm parallel? That's like shorting the driver isn't it?

What's the config of your iem?

    Home-Made IEMs

Hmm, it seems that the two drivers' resonance peaks are very different right?

I see, how does it compare to SWFK? :P Is it harder to implement as well?

Looks amazing! How did you get the faceplate so nice and flat? What's your review on the RAU drivers?

Purely based on the two graphs I would suspect the blue to be better. However, I think green probably will sound more likeable to me personally.

This 6mm planar works like a planar (rather than say the Square Planar). But honestly the voice coil design still throws me off as it is wound more like a dynamic driver than a planar driver with its traces laid out.

    Home-Made IEMs

Yeah I think you explained it better than me. It just felt more similar to a DD than a planar to me for some reason.

    Home-Made IEMs

Yes, but when normal people take it apart and don't see bar magnets they go nuts lol

    Home-Made IEMs

I think it's just that the construction is somewhere in between the two, or perhaps more similar to a dynamic driver than a planar. It looks like to me a flat diaphragm, with the coil of a dynamic, but a magnet layout of a planar.

This works and it sounds very good. I personally always use this design in my configs, you should try it too!

I bought a sample batch of 20 or something, and they were pretty badly matched, might be just bad luck for me. The pair that came in the KZ CRN was actually off by 20db on one side lol. They also had super strong magnets in them - I don't think they can be used too close to the BA drivers.

Huayunxin doesn't seem to have a shop on Taobao it seems... I've bought them factory direct via Alibaba.

    Home-Made IEMs

They are terribly matched, really expensive at RMB50 per piece too. The KZ CRN used them (I think) and the drivers in the iem I got were matched terribly too.

I used to like filling them solid but then they became impossible to repair if anything broke sadly :\

    Home-Made IEMs

Funnily enough I've heard some iems with a huge 3khz peak and they don't sound that bad actually. Not ideal for sure but not terrible.
  24. Xymordos

    Home-Made IEMs

Oof that would be too sharp for me, I'd like the 15kHz to be around the same level as 1kHz personally.

Oh where is this, I'd like to take a look too :P
