I wouldnt bother with a sub if its only that many poeple and just few times a year I think most speakers with a 5" woofer and up will have enough bass pound. At 500 you have many good options check out active monitors. I have krk v6 and they sound really great. Ive read good reviews about the...- Shaunyboy

A good nearfield (2.0/2.1) speaker set-up? (I already have a Creative Titanium HD)
well actives are more practical, from research back when I was looking to upgrade my friend advised me to look into actives I read and I got my krks and they sounded better than my passive set up. -
A good nearfield (2.0/2.1) speaker set-up? (I already have a Creative Titanium HD)
If you got a set of actives then you dont need a reciever or separate amp it would be a one time 350 deal, or did I miss something? -

That amp looks awesome I haven't heard one but just looking at the specs it looks really impressive and 6v6 tubes are great they are one of my favorite tubes for hi-fi.- Shaunyboy

Interesting. The HFI-2200 sounds better than the UE-10.
You cant really go wrong with either the hfi2400 or the ad900 IMO. I have heard both directly from a computer and they both sounded pretty great. I guess if I had to choose one it would be the hfi2400 the ad900 looked kind of ugly and I would not want to wear them in public. The ad900 the sound...- Shaunyboy

* HELP * Which Desktop stereo speaker to get?
Quote: The BX5a are great as well as the tapco S series mentioned above, those will just destroy the swans in terms of sound quality. Not that the swans are bad speakers but by design a bi-amplified speaker with an active crossovers are going to sound much better, the swan uses passive...- Shaunyboy

Which Bookshelf speaker should i get that has good bass.
It also depends on the amp, for instance with a tube amp you're usually not going to get god bass, most solid states do a good job but not all -
Anyone listened to a Xindak DAC-5 (both tube and SS DAC in one)
Has anyone compared the lite dac-60 or lite da58 with the xindak dac-5? I have a lite dac-58 which I use with my Senn hd800's and I really like it but the xindak peaked my interest . Specs wise the xindak looks better and it has much better transformers that's for sure but I was wondering if...- Shaunyboy

I have some dissatisfaction about my "PRO900"
Does the pro 900 come with the really long cable? Maybe consider getting a better quality shorter cable. Those long cables mess with the sound and don't let the headphones sound their best IMO- Shaunyboy

looking for good DAC with Sennheiser HD800 (up to $700)
I like to use a tube dac with my hd800's I feel that it completes the sound. I use a lite dac60 with them paired with a violectric amp, I like this dac better than the benchmark dac1, the xindak looks interesting I heard its better than the lite dac60 which is better than the dac58- Shaunyboy
