No. What Claritas meant: Good headphones are expensive to make, mediocre headphones are cheaper to make. Expectations are higher with open headphones. Another reason: Most people that use headphones expect some isolation or they would use speakers. So the demand for closed headphones is higher.

You should definitely get the Brainwavz M3. It has a very similar signature to the SE530. The SE215 is by far too bassy if you like the more neutral SE530.

Before I bought the Aureol Fidelity Model of German company Teufel, I have only ever heard driver flex on cheap models. But this is a 100 EUR inear and it has worse driver flex than any low cost thing I've ever had :-(

You certainly do not need an amp to drive the UM2 to their potential with an iPhone. That said, no CMoy I've heard was blacker sounding with the UM2 and other phones than an iPhone 4. There was always more noise with CMoy than without. Some of the FiiOs have less noise with IEMs than the CMoys...

The K518 is superior. The K450 is too muffled.

The JVC Flats might also be an option. Cheap, small, different colors, relatively robust, and they do not sound too bad as well.

Glad you like it. I think they fit a lot better with your musical taste than the K81 would have.  

Regarding the K121: There simply are many better headphones for the money, like e.g. the Shure. The K121 are not totally horrible, but IMHO not worth there money. I believe the cheaper K81 to be technically superior. I wouldn't recommend the K66 either. I really don't feel very excited about AKG...
