Long awaited Smyth SVS Realiser NOW AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE
I have the Smyth A8 and I am using it. The user manual is not the easiest to use if you are having problems with the set up, but persistence pays off. I am using the A8 with a Sherwood R-972 with Trinnov, and I can say that the Trinnov does appear to work when applied as a pre-processing step to...- xjr15

Long awaited Smyth SVS Realiser NOW AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE
"Actually, there is a laborious and and time-consuming way to do it, assembling a measurement two channels at a time IF there is a two-channel analogue input that goes through Audyssey, but that is beyond the scope of this session and would certainly be impractical for demos." -Lorr I have...- xjr15

Long awaited Smyth SVS Realiser NOW AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE
"You wouldn't even be able to use your room correction system with a cable company STB/DVR as a multi-channel DD5.1 source device for HDTV." No. You are confusing use with setup. The Dolby Digital 5.1 from a cable box or DVR would be digital inputs to the receiver and Room EQ and other DSP...- xjr15

Long awaited Smyth SVS Realiser NOW AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE
Quote: I hear you. I am going to purchase a Smyth A8 but I also have a R-972, but to get the sound over headphones that I get with the loudspeakers in the room with Trinnov engaged, there would need to be an ADC box between the Smyth and the R-972 so the Trinnov could be applied to the...- xjr15

Listening to Multi-Channel SACD on Headphones
The problem with the JVC and Sony processors is that they have to 'fake' multi-channel over 2 channel headphones, so they cannot be lossless. I have Dolby Headphone in my receiver and I watch 5.1 HDTV with it. It only works for me sometimes, and how well it works it depends on the source...- xjr15

Listening to Multi-Channel SACD on Headphones
It is not possible to listen to lossless multichannel( SACD, DVD-Audio, Dolby TrueHD, DTS- HD MasterAudio, or multichannel PCM ) as recorded over headphones. The JVC processor( and AKG used to also have a processor ) will simulate multichannel on headphones, given a lossy 5.1 Dolby Digital or...- xjr15
