    Pure i-20 iPod/iPhone Dock as a DAC

I just received mine this afternoon and works really good. Will pair it with a pair of Yamaha HS80M and in the future with a professional DA converter too.   Will post pics when the Yammies arrive this week.

Samsung galaxy S2 vs IPhone 4

Quote: The info displayed for the S2 is partially true, since it doesn't sport an A9 processor, but a Exinos or Tegra. Also not all the versions of the S2 have NFC and there you are missing important information such as the headphone output impedance, for example.

    the IMPORTANCE of Break-In ....discuss

Quote: Yes, as real as the lands of pink unicorns and talking lollipops.   I never understood why people let a headphone sound constantly during 100+ hours, with the subsequent problems of heating and the decrease of the life period. Just imagine that a headphone has a theorical...

    Samsung Galaxy Note.

Quote: I think that some japanese cell phones are just like that. The pity is that they never come to the european market.

    Samsung Galaxy Note.

I can't understand why Samsung keeps using that utterly crappy Yammie codec in the new smartphones, which is confirmed to be a real p.i.t.a. regarding sound quality.

    Samsung Galaxy Note.

Hope it doesn't sound as terrible as the S2 and the battery life is better, because with that screen I think it will drain faster than the battery of the S2.   Anyway, if you like it, enjoy it.

Just listened to some Fostex T50RPs today... WOW!

My first pair became unbalanced while modifying it, because without noticing it, there was a little plasticine touching the back of the 1/4" female jack connector. I keep that pair hoping that a spare female jack connector will solve the problem, because cleaning the plasticine and applying...

Just listened to some Fostex T50RPs today... WOW!

Quote: That you would need bigger cups, because the drivers wouldn't have enough chamber behind them, causing a huge change in sound and I assume in a negative way.

    Fostex TH900 announced!

I knew they were going to be dynamic, but I always had the hope of another planar....

Just listened to some Fostex T50RPs today... WOW!

Quote: They don't leak out much sound, but I wouldn't recommend them to be used in a train, because they don't isolate as much as a Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro does.

Koss Pro DJ 100 - The Budget King

I wonder if a dampening scheme (plasticine + paxmate), similar like the one that is done in the Fostex T50RP would benefit the DJ100.

    Best Headphone for me

I would choose the DT770 Pro 80, after trying all the rest that you mention in your last post. Superb comfort, great soundstage, excellent balance in the entire frequency spectrum, but highly revealing and shouty if you listen to bands that don't record their music in high quality or master it...

Just listened to some Fostex T50RPs today... WOW!

Just for pure fun, I've being doing A/B comparisons between my Fosteximus T50RPrime and my Koss Pro DJ100 equipped with AT ATH-M50. The price is more or less the same: USD75 the stock Fostex and USD100 the Koss Pro DJ100, though the Fosteximus T50RPrime has costed me about USD230 with all the...

Koss Pro DJ 100 - The Budget King

I have been using them intensively the last month while modifying the Fostex T50RP and have passed the 100 hours listening barrier with these headphones without noticing any changes in the sound. The only change was when I changed to the M50 pads, which make a terrific job with these headphones...

Another option is the Goldring DR150.

Yeah, it's not a bad audio interface for its price.

    Balanced Beta-22 made in China

It looks very good, though a bit "professional" for the refined audiophiles out there that also like fine style in their gear.

Interested in buying the Grado SR60i next month, and have a few questions.

I recommend you to wash the pads with a bit of softener, especially if you are going to use the L-Cush or the HD-414 pads. My HF-2 became much more comfortable since then, though I never found them uncomfortable.

    Alesis iO/2 Express

Yes, it acts as a headphone amp and it can drive almost any headphone without any problem.

    ATH A900 or DT770pro80 vs SRH840

Quote: The people try to confuse sibilance with high revealing headphone. If you use the DT770 Pro with bad recordings, it will be unlistenable, because it will reveal all the faults.   The 840 is less revealing, but also will be affected by poor recordings.   If I were you, I...

    ATH A900 or DT770pro80 vs SRH840

The ATH-A900 is a terrible headphone... Very bright and shouty, recessed mids, lack of treble....   Between the SRH-840 and the DT770 Pro... I would have a hard time choosing. I've had both and loved them. Maybe I would choose the DT770 Pro because is less forgiving and a little more...

Just listened to some Fostex T50RPs today... WOW!

Quote: This headphones are meant to be used with professional audio gear, as they are studio monitors. I drive them with a Phonic Helix Board 12 Firewire MKII mixer and can't pass the 9 o'clock position in the volume pot. I also tried them with somewhat expensive audiophile gear (for...
