The Canon Thread
Yes that does make the transition to mirrorless a little less painful. At this point I seriously don't see what is the point of DSLRs especially when a Canon 5d Mk III is only 22 MP. Seriously Canon needs to pick up the pace a little here or else they are going to be left behind.- BoyFreak

Clik Elite has some good camera backpack options. You definitely do not want to use a "Canon" or "Nikon" backpack that just screams steal me, especially when you are traveling to unfamiliar places. Ape Case and Kata has some nice backpacks as well. When looking for a hiking camera...- BoyFreak

Well if you do get a bigger bag just make sure to get a real backpack if you plan on full day hiking. I made the mistake of using one of those shoulder sling bags and it is a killer on your shoulder when hiking around for a full day with a 60d + 3 lenses and a flash + tripod. Since you...- BoyFreak

Yazen - Are you okay with the size of DSLR like the D5100 and T3i? If you are than either of those are suitable for your needs. But there is a lot of push towards the mirrorless camera now especially how it is lighter and the lenses are more compact. Especially if you do a lot of hiking...- BoyFreak

Sounds like there is some electronics in the adapter - but cannot be completely sure how much control / feedback there is from this.- BoyFreak

Need help choosing headphones that cost less than $100 for electronic music (such as House) and don't require an amp.
The JVC does look nice and a lot more compact than the Sony. I admit the coiled cable can be annoying at times, but it is so tangle free that I don't really mind it at all. Especially if you have a lot of cables on your desk, then you will want something that won't tangle with other cables.- BoyFreak

Good On-Ear Headphones under 100 dollars
I have heard good things about the Koss portapros as a light portable compact setup. My preference for under $100 would be the Sony MDR-V6. The sony doesn't fold up as nicely or compact as the Koss, but it does have good bass to it.- BoyFreak

Well there is suppose to be a EF to E mount full frame adapter so that will make the transition for most of us with EF & EF-S lenses to the sony FF mirrorless camera a little less painful. http://www.sonyalpharumors.com/mxphoto-working-on-a-ef-to-e-mount-full-frame-adapter/- BoyFreak

Sony mdr-V6 is well under $100 and the sound is still very nice for a general all purposes.- BoyFreak

I think its also a matter of finding a shared hobby. My little one is too young to appreciate anything besides nap time. But maybe when he gets a little older we can do a few things together.- BoyFreak

Looking for some Advice
Hi All, Long time lurker here. I was really into head-fi when I was still single but somehow now with the wife and kid, it seems I don't have any time to dedicate to listening to music anymore. The most I do is at work, but that is about it. Seems like other hobbies have gotten in...- BoyFreak
