You guys mind steering me a bit? I've been on the headphone track for about 10 years and have really figured out what I like. Now I want to try some IEM but am finding the excessive options and no experience with them daunting. I love nuetral, high resolution and a good image. Looking to try...- wadec22

want imaging without piercing treble
I have had the head-fi bug off and on over the years and have used a number of headphones and am still looking for the one. DT770 Pro - WAY too tight of clamp & the headband created a hot spot on top of my head- hated it DT880 Premium - liked it a lot, but was looking for something a little...- wadec22

Help me replace my Denon D2000
This summer I made a big mistake and sold my Denon D2000s. I had tried multiple headphones including; Beyerdynamic DT880, 770, 990 DT-150, AudioTechnica AD700 that I remember of the top of my head. I really liked the DT880s but Denon D2000 was by far my favorite and of course it's now...- wadec22

2 sound cards, does it work?
So I finally ordered an Asus Xonar Essence to see what all the fuss is about. I'm very excited to compare it to my current setup. One thing that will be a hickup if I like the Essence enough to keep it.... I did TONS of comparing between CMSS-3D and Dolby Headphone for gaming and teh X-Fi...- wadec22

DAC needed? If so, options?
So I'm using an X-fi plantium and beyerdynamic dt 880's. I just bought an ASL MG Head MKII tube amp off another user since I was told the 880's would benefit from a tube amp. So far I'm kind of disappointed. The ASL is probably 10-15% better than my astro mixamp. Is this because I'm...- wadec22

any idea how this would do as a DAC?
http://emotiva.com/usp1.shtm I use one of their large amplifiers for my home theater and it is amazing for the money. Is there any reason why I should look for a different DAC for my headphones in this price range?- wadec22

So I recently purchased a headphone amp from a fellow member and the unit was very slightly damaged in transit. The unit is a little older and two of the wires connecting to the balanced power supply came un-attached. Currently I have out three emails to possible companies to repair the amp...- wadec22

so many sound options, my head is spinning...
So I have a Creative X-Fi platinum that has the front I/O panel. I also purchased an Astro Mixamp a few months back. My only concern with sound is for gaming. I like a competitive advantage and I want it to sound as close to my home theater (via headphones) as possible. Thanks to the great...- wadec22

new audiophile, struggling to find my second pair of nice cans
So unfortunately, I recently found this forum and decided to purchase the AD700's. I love them! Naturally, now I'm looking for the next step. :) I purchased a pair of Beyerdynamic DT770's just to see what a nice pair of closed cans sounds like. The sound is great. My problem is...- wadec22

I currently have some AudioTechnica AD700's that I love, but I'm looking for the next step. Dollar difference aside, should I get the 880's or 990's? Thanks!- wadec22

sound is there, but need more comfort...
Just got my astro mixamp and ad700's, they sound great. problem is I do not care for the felt ear pads on the hp's. I find them itchy after a bit and I think I'd rather have a soft leather type. I noticed the Sennheiser HD 448's get good reviews as do the Audio Technica M50's. Will either...- wadec22
