Dark Souls on PC. Not played it due to not owning a PS3/X360, but it was one of the few that made me want one.     Dear lord it's better than I hoped. 40 hours in.

Got the Dr. DAC DX2, it's got more than enough power for the HE-400s. At $250 it's a pretty good match for these, if you don't want to go with tubes.

Been looking at the Leckerton UHA-6 myself. Not sure if it'd make for a better desktop setup than my uDAC 2 in terms of amping power. I did get the velours today. Definitely more comfy.

Welp, broke down and got some. I was listening to some Portapros the other day and realized I missed having virtually no bottom end with my otherwise beloved AD700s. Was alternatively tempted by the DT880s for supposed the overall balance and soundstage, and the Q701s because they look gorgeous...

OK, gonna try here instead of cluttering the forum with a new thread:   So I've been the proud owner of some AD700s for several years now (previously futzed around with some cheaper Sonys and Sennheisers) and I love the comfort and the airy soundstage and detail.   Trouble in paradise...

Finally got the upgrade kit today, had a bit of an issue getting the front/back panels to fit flush with the uDAC-2 parts installed, but got it all in there in the end.   Since I upgraded I can't do an A-B comparison between the uDAC/uDAC-2, but the uDAC-2 *certainly* doesn't sound worse...

Rhino/WB in general is really bad about "brick walled" remasters. I've had many bad experiences with their stuff.

As a newbie audiophile coming off of Fuze+E5+HD201s, I can't say much, but I *can* say the uDAC+a pair of AD700s was the best $200 I've spent in some time. I made (and still make) audible happy noises while listening to my music.
