Dark Souls on PC. Not played it due to not owning a PS3/X360, but it was one of the few that made me want one. Dear lord it's better than I hoped. 40 hours in.- phanboy_iv

**Hifiman HE-400 Impressions and Discussion Thread**
Got the Dr. DAC DX2, it's got more than enough power for the HE-400s. At $250 it's a pretty good match for these, if you don't want to go with tubes.- phanboy_iv

Quote: Scratch that. Decided on a Dr. DAC 2 MUSES. Can work as a DAC, an amp, or both, $300, near-zero output impedance, good showing in RMAA graphs, plenty of power for the HE-400s, well regarded manufacturer. Anybody wanna buy a uDAC -2? :D- phanboy_iv

Been looking at the Leckerton UHA-6 myself. Not sure if it'd make for a better desktop setup than my uDAC 2 in terms of amping power. I did get the velours today. Definitely more comfy.- phanboy_iv

**Potential Meet for Atlanta Area**
I'd be interested, but haven't got much in the way of cool gear. EDIT: Could bring AD700s, Dr. Dac DX2 MUSES, HE-400's, and some, er, Portapros I guess?- phanboy_iv

Quote: I can't notice much in the way of soundstage degradation in the HE 400's versus the AD700s, but I need to break them in a bit more. Agreed about the classical and jazz, newer better recorded jazz sounds amazing, as does the more intimate stuff. Source chain is...- phanboy_iv

Welp, broke down and got some. I was listening to some Portapros the other day and realized I missed having virtually no bottom end with my otherwise beloved AD700s. Was alternatively tempted by the DT880s for supposed the overall balance and soundstage, and the Q701s because they look gorgeous...- phanboy_iv

OK, gonna try here instead of cluttering the forum with a new thread: So I've been the proud owner of some AD700s for several years now (previously futzed around with some cheaper Sonys and Sennheisers) and I love the comfort and the airy soundstage and detail. Trouble in paradise...- phanboy_iv

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: NEW Nuforce uDAC-2 with 24/96 - USB DAC AMP with line out and S/PDIF out
Finally got the upgrade kit today, had a bit of an issue getting the front/back panels to fit flush with the uDAC-2 parts installed, but got it all in there in the end. Since I upgraded I can't do an A-B comparison between the uDAC/uDAC-2, but the uDAC-2 *certainly* doesn't sound worse...- phanboy_iv

Amp+Dac recommendations for Audio Tehcnica AD700
I have AD700's, and I find that they pair very well with a uDAC. uDAC-2 probably as well, that remains to be seen. But really,an amp is completely unnecessary with the AD700s, they don't need any kind of amping at all to sound their best. A good source is much more important, so any...- phanboy_iv

uDac 2?
Yeah, the upgrade program is pretty excellent really. It seems they've actually replaced the uDAC with the uDAC-2 on their site, when they could have easily released it alongside the original for a higher price and offered no upgrade program at all. Loving my uDAC now, can't wait for the...- phanboy_iv

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: Nuforce uDAC USB DAC AMP with line out and S/PDIF out
As a newbie audiophile coming off of Fuze+E5+HD201s, I can't say much, but I *can* say the uDAC+a pair of AD700s was the best $200 I've spent in some time. I made (and still make) audible happy noises while listening to my music.- phanboy_iv

uDAC heat and popping sounds?
I've been leaving my uDAC plugged in/turned on 24/7 for the past week and a half, and it never even got warm, so it must be something in your setup.- phanboy_iv

AD700+Fuze portable amp?
Well, got the AD700s and they sound great, a definite improvement. And they fit me well, thankfully. Sound is excellent to me via the uDAC HO, I'm really loving it. However the Fuze HO does not sound as good, the soundstage and detail of the Fuze+AD700 seems to be noticeably less than the...- phanboy_iv

AD700+Fuze portable amp?
I'll try to make this specific, so it isn't quite so much of a typical "find me an amp" post. Currently a budget constrained student who likes unmuddled sound. Using HD201's+Fiio E5, and naturally the amp makes a noticeable positive difference with the Senns. Recently got a uDAC, which...- phanboy_iv
