Im thinking of upgrading my hpa1 to b3 can someone suggest which adapters I would need for a Sony mdr-z7 it has a balanced cable but with mini jacks. Would I need xlr > twin female phono?

Congrats on the D2000 its great headphone,    My E10 and D2K combo works very well there is no issues with static or anything like that.  The Jack and volume pot are solid and mine was one of the early batches.   IMO you wont get a better DAC / Amp in its price bracket.   

Now this looks interesting, I am keen to hear the Fiio E17 and Galaxy SII combo success stories.  This would be a sweet set up to untether my listing from my PC.   I'm currently mulling over a Cowon Z2 purchase to replace my battered Sflo2 this might be a better option.

Fair play Jibbe, the choice between a 900 and D2000 is tougher than most people would think. and I'd rate the comarison review is a fair assesment. However I would not let the 900s go so I have the D2000 at work and the 900 at home :)  win \ win.   all this denon love makes me I want to take...

The E7 is pleny powerfull but only in the USB DAC output which is how I use it at work (itunes)... with the E7 you'd get a better SQ than oboard + bass boost + charge and play and cant on the e11, all music even pandora streaming should benefit. RE charging the unit will display charging complete..    I would not discharge the unit... Lith-ion batteries last longest if you keep then topped up and not let then drain out.   I just charge over USB most days so my battery stays near full and its as long lasting as when I first got...

E5 vs E11 is a no brainer... the power avail able from the e11 is far greater than the e5 the bass boost is far better ..  The e5 is a toy in comparison.

i'm sure you are working hard on the X3 but any update on E10 would be great...

For those that were wondering.. The Fiio E11 amps the pro 900 really well, the bass boost makes them ultra meaty.  I can now use the 900s for portable use luckily i don't need to worry about the cans slipping as I have a massive heeed   My 2 cents on burn in... Ultrasones most definitely...
