Tell me about those USB-C DAC dongles...
Hi all, Haven't been to HeadFi for quite a while, nice to meet you again :). Recently I became interested in portable USB-C audio, particularly in those ugly(well...) dongles that provide a 3.5mm jack. To start with, I thought of them as passive adapters: somehow the idea of a DAC, amp, and...- G.Trenchev

High quality schematic drawing software
Hello guys, What software do you use for drawing neat,clean,good-for-publishing schematics?I mean schematics for textbooks and websites.I know I should get drawing packages for LATEX,but I'm sure there's something simpler out there. I tried several drawing applications - Xcircuit,Fluid...- G.Trenchev

When did you start DIY ?
I don't think age actually matters, but I'm curious. It's a fun hobby. We mean audio DIY,of course, and add some background. For me it was at 14,me and some friends at school build a 2 m. tall speaker out of plywood, and inserted 10 transducers into it.Later, trying to build a metal detector was a...- G.Trenchev

LM4562 driving headphones
Well,it won't blast your ears, but it's loud enough to leave the pot at 1/3.The RMAA results actually surprised me(mind that this is pocket amp). Take a look: No load: Load 32 ohm headphones: Subjective sound is good too. So,not bad as a headphone amp. Here's a pic of the thing...- G.Trenchev

Newer battery - more distortion ?
OK,I've build a simple pocket headphone amp. It's schematic is like the MINI3,except for virtual ground with two BJTs instead of opamp. Also,I'm using the LM4562. I've been using it for some days,so the 9v battery is about it's half or less...gives 7.8v.I've bought a new one for the sake of better...- G.Trenchev

Modding the Audiophile 2496
Well,I got an M-Audio Audiophile 2496 audio card.I like it very much,it records well and the sound is dead neutral(likey that). I'm thinking of some modding now. What about the NE5532 on the output? Is it dual supplied? If so,the two output caps I see are unnecessary, aren't they? Can I just bypass...- G.Trenchev
