Really dumb question...does the cobalt work with a chromebook?

With that in mind, I believe the cable will be the problem. Does anyone make a OTG cable from the USB port on the phone to a type B USB at the iDSD?

Can I use the new iDSD DAC from iFi with my HTC One (8)? My Dragonfly works with it if I use USB AP Pro. Do I need some sort of an android driver with the iDSD??   As an aside that silly cheap DAC sounds great on my J-River running laptop.

A question....does anyone know if the tracks sampled in a DSD store like that are sampled IN DSD before one buys them. I ask because my iDSD device sees the sample played as a CD quality file regardless of what type of file I select to sample???

I would also go $30-40 for a quality OTG cable, but I need one that ends in a regular USB female (to connect to my Dragonfly) and it needs be Very short, as in 3-4 inches...better would be a simple adapter, USB micro OTG to USB female...something that could be directly connected to the phone...

I have also had issues with OTG cables and have yet to find one that works consistently and over time....Most start well, develop quirks and then refuses to work at al. Someone should make a GOOD, short reliable cable...Someone like Audioquest.

  Got to agree with that...My Xperia Z with a Dragonfly is far easier to use and carry than my previous rig.

I experimented with a Xperia to a Dragonfly and played music for 8 hours until I hit 25% battery. That is fine for me. What eats the power is the screen in this rig so I let it time out.

The best I can do is report I got over 8 hours playback using my Xperia through a Dragonfly and still had 25% battery left playing at 1/3 volume through in ear phones. I did not expect so much.

Another experiment.....I charged my Xperia Z to 97%, attached the Dragonfly, and then ran music using USB Audio Player pro to see how much it drained the battery...Began at 9:45 and stopped at 1745...constant playing at about 25% loudness and it ran for 8 hours....Not bad

I am experiencing an intermittent problem. More often than not I have to reboot the phone before it recognizes the dragonfly, though it does give me the initial request for permission in USB Audio Player pro and I check the box authorizing the device. Up pops the correct screen with my music...

Agreed! 24/192 built in DAC, real Hi-Rez screen, and SD card capability up to 128GB......   Nothing else even comes close.

Just because Google and the Android folk have not decided to support music lovers with proper digital outs (or decent hi-Rez DAC's) does not mean one has to suffer. The USB Audio Player folk have freed us from crappy sound. They opened the door, it is up to users to walk through it.
