Best High-End Earbuds (non in-ear/ non ear-canal)
Here's a thread with lots of info about current earbuds : http://www.head-fi.org/t/441400/earbuds-round-up-update-april-17th-2016 Further to serman005's suggestion, it might be worth ordering a Venture Electronics Monk+ to see how that fits before ordering the more expensive Zen ...- chrisjackson

Earbuds Round-Up
Folks, don't sell those old buds; breathe new life into them. Was its signature too mid-centric for you or not enough? No worries the excentric® signature was designed for you. At last one simple technique to solve all those budbears in one : Amping - No need to let ohms and mWs and...- chrisjackson

Need help with choosing earphones on the budget
That's good. Hopefully you won't have an issue. Just had two of my adult nephews around to try out the Monks; they just popped them in effortlessly; I struggle a bit. Sennheiser did address the problem some while back for folks with smaller ears; see picture at bottom of this page ...- chrisjackson

Need help with choosing earphones on the budget
Maybe the best bet is to order an inexpensive Sennheiser (or whatever) that has the same shell size as the Monk. They're bigger than old apple buds and you'll want to know whether you can get a good fit before you order two Monks.- chrisjackson

High Quality Sound Closed Headphones for Classical Music - budget £100-250
The B&O H6 is still just under £200 at amazon.co.uk (the tan one only now). That is a recommended choice for classical music. Though it is not supposed to be the best for isolation a lot of your other suggestions look a bit bulky for use outdoors.- chrisjackson

Earbuds Round-Up
Well yes, I suppose that's the important bit... Good to see that in all the Venture Electronics excitement, other tastes/ear shapes are being catered for. Unlike Chompy above for my fit I need to cut a bit of bass and boost the mids to get where I want to with the Monks. Happy to do that to...- chrisjackson

Oh sorry, got the idea into my little brain that your success at negotiating those Chinese sites meant you could read it. Guess you have some other ingenuity at work there. Aliexpress for ordering the VE Monks even with all the English and correct currency was challenge enough for me- chrisjackson

[2021 Update] Venture Electronics (VE) Monk V2, Monk Plus & Monk Go: a $5 earbud that taking the world by storm!!!
Hope am not speaking out of turn, but in a message from Lee on Aliexpress he seemed to indicate that the next batch (don't know if there will be any more after that) will be arriving very very soon compared to the typical time taken for delivery to customers. Realise it's easy for those who...- chrisjackson

[2021 Update] Venture Electronics (VE) Monk V2, Monk Plus & Monk Go: a $5 earbud that taking the world by storm!!!
Saw your post before the edit. Interesting to see how things work there. I was thinking more like the post at the top of page 32 on this thread. Then again I suppose things are not so automated at Venture Electronics that they'd miss a suspiciously large order. Well I guess now as a head-fi...- chrisjackson

What are some good Yuin PK3 pad replacements?
This product line (choice of black or white and also donut foams) is frequently recommended here : http://m.shenzhenaudio.com/hiegi-high-quality-foam-cushions-for-earphones-earbuds-6-pairs.html If you don't get through foams quickly the quality and packaging should hopefully prevent them...- chrisjackson

Earbuds Round-Up
They were about £70 back in 1989/90 which might seem quite a lot now but I suppose such things were more expensive. Still I reckon they gave good service : got plenty of use and at no time felt like they would fail me. Usual postscript : with a nephew now...- chrisjackson

Sorry, no offence intended; it wasn't meant to be a picture of you. My understanding is that your all-consuming issue is lack of seal rather than being one. Maybe it was unconscious tact at work which prevented me from posting these links to pictures of Monk Seals ...- chrisjackson

BTW on a serious note (OK not very) I find a difference between the VE Monk and AKG K317 in that I prefer the former with as tight a seal as possible in my ears. I see the latter doesn't have any holes on the rear of the housing and does sound congested to me when fitting very tightly.- chrisjackson
