USB DAC with speaker AMP combo?
I wanted some feeback on those units. And I got a question about optical input/SPDIF. I will have the soundcard in my workstation, Realtek® ALC1150, which is something pretty basic. Another question is headphone AMP. I don't feel like I want another separate box for headphones.- TLN

USB DAC with speaker AMP combo?
You can see many others in same category: Emotiva TA-100 ELAC Element. Sony UDA-1 NAD 3020. PS Audio Sprout Personally, I'm leaning towards NAD D3020: it's small, it have all the features I need. Same for Sony UDA-1. Both can be found for relatively cheap money. Second is PS Audio...- TLN

Since it will be connected to my PC 24/7 I can stream to PC, which is pretty much the same. I've listed all the devices that hits all the boxes: amp, headphone amp and dac. If you look the other way: how does USB connection compares to optical? Any advantages/disadvantages? I can buy network...- TLN

USB DAC with speaker AMP combo?
Hello. Looking forward to update my setup. Currently I have Audinst MX-1 USB DAC, JBL LSR 305 Speakers, and AKG K271 Studio phones. I was missing hifi sounds, cause speakers and phones are studio monitors. Recently I've pulled a trigger on nice DALI Zensor 1 speakers. I know some will...- TLN

The AKG K7XX Massdrop First Edition Thread
That's a good question. Also quite interested how K7xx compares to K701. I've really enjoyed K701, at recent meet, so: DT880 vs K712 vs K7xx vs X2 Anyone?- TLN

2.0 Speakers Compilation: Best for <$500
Just FYI. I've got a pair of JBL LSR305 and they sound amazing. I'm using it with Audinst MX-1 DAC, with RCA-TRS cable. You will need a different cable (3.5 jack to TRS) but the rest is the same.- TLN

Chicago area Headphone Meet - Feb 6th 2016 - ChiUniFi
Guys, just a dumb question: do I need to bring my own source, or I can bring dac/phones only? Not that sub $200 dac or phones will get lots of attention, but just curious.- TLN

I got it. Will see, I still have an idea of replacing my DAC with Sony UDA-1, which can drive speakers as well. This will be perfect for me then.- TLN

2.0 Speakers Compilation: Best for <$500
But this ELAC's B5 cost same as JBL 305's. And I will need an amp for them. So does ELAC B5 + Amp sounds better to satisfy extra $100 on amp?- TLN

2.0 Speakers Compilation: Best for <$500
Well.. it depends. Preferably yes. I can stretch a bit more, but prefer not to spend alot. I have only USB DAC/headphone amp now, so I either need to get amp+speakers or active speakers. Or replace my DAC with something with speaker amp inside. You can read my thread here...- TLN

2.0 Speakers Compilation: Best for <$500
I'm in search for good speakers/amp in 200-300 range. Can anyone advise some good brand to look at? I also think of replacing my DAC/headphone amp with something all-in-one, like: Sony UDA-1, Teac 301/501, NAD 3020/7050, etc.. mean anything with amp, so I can connect speakers there. Do you...- TLN

Advice on home audio needed: Get a extra AMP or buy a DAC/AMP combo
Hi all. Moved to new aparttment, and wanna bring some sound in. Now I have Audinst MX-1 and K271 headphones(looking to get DT880 though). I wanna connect bookshelfspeakers, and have some options here: 1. Buy speakers and amplifier. It may be some cheap amp like lepai 2020, or something...- TLN

Creative Sound blaster E5 - Headphone amp + USB DAC with OTG + Toslink + aptX + recording + more.
I'm trying to imagine all the use-cases with E5. I'm now using a Audinst Mx1 and I haven't asked about a direct comparsion, but seems E5 is not only feature-rich but better in specs. I guess if I connect it via powered USB hub I will not worry about battery when PCc is off: simply listen from...- TLN

Creative Sound blaster E5 - Headphone amp + USB DAC with OTG + Toslink + aptX + recording + more.
How do I choose a source with E5? Say I'm using this as USB-DAC with my PC, playing music, and also have a Bluetooth enabled and paired phone nearby. Imaging someone calls me - will I hear my ringtone instead of music? I'm planning to change my Audinst mx-1 to E5, because of extra features...- TLN

DAC + Player + Bluetooth?
No need for Bluetooth headphones. I just find a E5 idea really cool: I can plug my stereo there and my PC: -I can use it as USB-DAC -I can play music from smartphone via Bluetooth and even talk with it as there's mic in E5. -I can use it with any device via Line-in. -I can take it with me...- TLN

Seems that Astell & Kern AK100 II can do it all. Even more it have Wi-Fi for something and may be can play music via Wi-FI or from NAS. Price is a bit off, but may be there's another product like this.- TLN

Hi all. I was browsing a net and found a nice and new product to me, which was released couple of months ago: Creavite SB E5: it got DAC plus Bluetooth and headphone amp. So I can put there my headphones and home stereo and listen music from my PC(usb DAC), Bluetooth or Line in. Seems that...- TLN

What should I upgrade my AKG K271S to?
Will check them out too. Never heard about AT advised for Alternative or Rock. People mostly recommend Beyers to that genres. I cannot listen to phones before I buy, so I'd stay with "safe" and proven cans.- TLN
