Well I am sure I am not alone in this story. My ipod was stolen from my house ata a party and I am now without any mp3 player. The one I had was a 20gb. I liked the ipod but wasn't too crazed over it. I am looking to buy a new mp3 player in the 200-300 dollar range. What would you guys reccomend?

To each his own. I wouldn't get too worked up over this discusiion. Keep things in perspective, We are talking about HEADPHONES. I have the HD595's and love them, they are extremely comfortable, efficient and sound great (not grainy at all) for what it is worth.

I am sorry, I thought you had said ear cushions not ear cups. My fault. You slide them to the top slot and then push up and out and they should pop out.

I have a pair of the HD212's and you do just pull to remove from the headphone. You have my word that they will not tear.

They are about a $30 headphone in my mind as well. How does everyone here stack the nois ecancelling models though. Does anyone consider any of the other noise cancelling models to be worth their price, such as the Sennheiser PXC250's or the shure in ears?

Just ordered my Grills for the HD580. According tot the sales department over there they are now in stock. Part # 070211 and cost $6.43 each.

I disagree, I enjoyed the sound of the MX550, even more as I continued to listen. They are bit more bright then the MX500's, but they are not night and day. I think that they are sold exclusively through circuit city.
