Motown had The Funk Brothers. Stax had Booker T. & The M.G’s. Rock ’n’ Roll had The Wrecking Crew.

I just finished watching this. I grabbed a naughty copy because it still hasn't been released commercially. I signed up for news of when it is released on dvd, so I'll definitely be buying a copy.   Great film full of amazing stories. Thanks Mike for the heads-up, bro

Sounds like an awesome film. I hope Lee Hazlewood gets a mention in it, being an engineering pioneer and contemporary of these fellows. I like your style, Mike.

    Flawless albums

I've decided to revisit this thread with something I discovered recently   Ry Cooder & VM Bhatt - A Meeting By The River This won an Emmy back in the 90s and rightly so. Wonderfully intimate recording of some incredible improvised music. Instant Desert Island disc for me.

    Favourites metal phones?

I use Ultrasone Pro900. They have great speed and impact that works really well with thrash but can be too bass heavy with sludge/doom

    Baroque Music Appreciation Thread, v.1.1

I'd like to resurrect this thread with one I stumbled over tonight.  An interesting version of the great Chaconne, different to the few rather masculine versions I've heard. Quite relaxed as one listener has observed.  I think I like the feminine touch.  Interested to hear other impressions.
