O2 AMP + ODAC
I have mine at 1x/2.5x and I almost always find it enough.. But, I don't think I would mind having 1x/3.5x. I usually stay on 1 unless I'm using a source other than my odac.. such as a sansa clip. At such times, I wish I had more than 2.5x on very quiet recordings. 1x/3.5x sounds pretty...- chrislangley4253

Do you believe BURN IN for your Audio Stuff like Headphones, Earphones and Amplfiers?
I too think it is mostly the ears/brain adjusting to a new sound sig.- chrislangley4253

O2 AMP + ODAC
I do this with a similar cable and or sennheiser 3.5mm to 1/4" pigtail adapter. I secure the cable/adapter to my desk with masking tape. Can't tell you how many times it has probably saved my output jack. Hah, easy misunderstanding.- chrislangley4253

O2 AMP + ODAC
I thought you were joking. I've never heard the ODAC+O2 described as having a "warm glow". It's cool if that's the way you hear it, but I think most people describe it as pretty transparent.- chrislangley4253

O2 AMP + ODAC
Do you notice any noise or unwanted distortion with your current setup? If so, the o2 and odac would remove this problem. Do you feel the need to turn up the headphones to a louder volume? If so, yes the o2 and odac will give you a higher gain and allow you to reach higher volumes. Other...- chrislangley4253

Does it matter which cassette adapter thingy I get to listen to music in my car with my phone?
I would just pay attention to the cable, it is likely the first thing to break on it.. That being said, mine is flimsy and has lasted forever. I even leave it in the car when it's hot/cold.- chrislangley4253

Grado modders go Magnum
I really wouldn't. Magnums are really kinda fine tweaked, I don't think they are meant to be punched.. And you might have a hard time ever recovering them.. What makes you wanna punch the holes? Want more bass? Get a sealed on ears or in ear monitor. Let the magnums be IMOO- chrislangley4253

O2 AMP + ODAC
Negative, there is a charging circuit in anything that uses rechargable batteries to prevent this from happening. At least, anything that is well designed.. Same thing goes for your phone, except there may be a circuit in the charger as well as the phone in that case. Designers anticipate this...- chrislangley4253

You can use it without batteries, but I dunno why you would want to remove the portable functionality.- chrislangley4253

Just listened to some Fostex T50RPs today... WOW!
Hey Jake, (and everyone else.. It's been a while since I have posted in here) People go round and round with burn-in on any given pair of headphones.. I suggest just listening to them and giving them a little time to potentially "open up" before you start modding.. It cannot hurt. Put some...- chrislangley4253

Cardas cable vs. HD600 stock cable
I did not.. But, I'm not the best at comparing gear. I have heard of many other people sticking with the stock cable though, so maybe there is something to all of this cable stuff. I guess I'm back on the fence :) Happy Listening!- chrislangley4253

Best cans for under 50$ for EDM?
Wait and see how the new cans sound plugged in to your PC, and compare the PC to your sansa+, that is a pretty darn good source. A sound card or DAC (digital-to-analog converter, this term is usually used for external "sound cards") is only necessary if you notice problems with your onboard...- chrislangley4253

Cardas cable vs. HD600 stock cable
I do not think that the thickness of these voice coil wires affects the SQ. So, it makes me kinda doubt that the thickness of the cable makes much of a difference.. Then again, it is a very short distance that this wire travels and I am not accounting for difference in materials and braiding and...- chrislangley4253

Best cans for under 50$ for EDM?
Hey there, I'm gonna suggest you stay away from the Portapros and ksc-75 (Great sound, but horrible cable that is not fun to replace when it inevitably breaks). Those JVC HAS500/400 are a very interesting suggestion, check those out, as well as the AKG K240 for an open over-ears and the...- chrislangley4253

Cardas cable vs. HD600 stock cable
Hey mike, I think this could be posted in the wrong section, but I am curious if you have ever seen how small the wires are that go from the cable input on these sennheisers to the drivers themselves? As you can see, the wires are extremely thin, I just think it's good to know what is...- chrislangley4253

Best FLAC player for PC?
I still main foobar2k, But, I'll be trying out album player and aimp caught my eye too. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dither Dithering is definitely not something you want to enable when you are ripping CD's to FLAC. I highly recommend against it.. It might sound better, but you are no...- chrislangley4253

DAP with the best SQ?
Yup, and you can pop em right open and resolder the jack pretty much indefinitely.. Any product that uses a small jack such as the sansa will have an identical problem. It's just kinda how it goes. Feel free to send me your three broken ones :)- chrislangley4253
