    Lets Talk Metal

That brings back memories!  I like the Faith No More version on Nativity in Black better though (drums).  I know not hardcore enough for this thread.  I will go back to lurking  =)

REVIEW: Fischer Audio FA-011 - OFF THE DEEP END!!

Not sure if there is any real technical reason, but I did it because I didn't want to keep fiddling with the EQ, and also as an experiment to see what it did to the sound.

REVIEW: Fischer Audio FA-011 - OFF THE DEEP END!!

I bought this one, http://www.ebay.com/itm/290372905689  Same thing though.  I tried a 75ohm and a 120ohm.  The 120ohm was too much.   I like sparkly highs, but there's just a touch too much on these FA-011's for me.  I can listen to them w/o the adapter, but I prefer not to.

REVIEW: Fischer Audio FA-011 - OFF THE DEEP END!!

I concur buttons252.  I've had my FA-011's for a while, and they are my favorite phones.  I just tried both the hifiman velours and pleather pads.  The pleather pads just made them sound so very weird (muddy, veiled, ... just weird).  But, I like the velours.  Barely a difference in sound, and...

REVIEW: Fischer Audio FA-011 - OFF THE DEEP END!!

If you want to cut some of the highs out, but don't use an eq, then you could get one of these, http://www.ebay.com/itm/ETYMOTIC-ER4P-ER4S-RESISTOR-ADAPTOR-3-5MM-PLUG-/290372905689   I have found the standard 75ohm version trims just enough highs for my taste, but I tend to like bright...

    The discovery thread!

Quote:   Everything I've read has said that the highs on those are "smoothed over" or "laid back", which means I won't like them.  If you check my profile you'll notice that I prefer phones that most people think are too V-shaped.   Did some comparisons between the CKS77, FX3X, and...

    The discovery thread!

Thanks for sharing the recommendations people.  Wanted to share my experience with the IEMs recommended here so far, and ask a question. SHE3580:  Great for the money. FX40:  interesting sound, good price, uncomfortable. MP8320:  Decent, uncomfortable. SHE9700:  bleh FX101:  Decent, but...

Quote:   Sieben: Q701 has great soundstage, could use a bass bump on this track though. Backworld: The Devil's Plaything was nice. Current 93: bleh, not my thing. Mi and L'Au:  Too weird for me  =) Going to listen to some acoustic with them next, rodrigo y gabriela, paul...

Quote: Sorry, I don't have an IEM recommendation, but I wanted to thank you for posting that song.  I have been using the FA-001 as my main headphone for a while (throw in a 75ohm adapter if the highs are too much for you), but this song allowed me to switch to the Q701 that I haven't...

    Lets Talk Metal

Just wanted to pop in and say thanks to all of the participators in this thread.  I had pretty much thought metal was dead or dying.  I was a metalhead in high-school (mid '90's), but didn't keep up with anything since.  So I have spent the last year catching up with what I missed, but wasn't...

http://www.antonline.com/p_Etymotic-Research--ER5-BLACK--Etymotic-Research-HF5-Portable-In-Ear-Earphones-%28Black%29-_601757.htm   I've ordered from these guys before without any problems, but I read that they are hit or miss on customer satisfaction.   These come up as $66 + s/h for me...

Which grado for audio gd fun?

@ KneelJung, I'm glad to hear that you are still liking the MS2i's.   To be honest, even though I don't think there're huge differences between the models in the grado lineup, I did just buy a set of 325is to A/B with the SR80i's that I currently have.  Since I like my DT990's so much, I...

    SR60-Mod

If you haven't modded the comfies, and you are not scared of treble, cut the holes in them.  They don't sound right with the foam in front of the driver.

[GUIDE] Sonic Differences Between DT770-DT990 Models & More

If I would have seen this thread before reselling it, I would've had no problem loaning it to you.   I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you get the one that's FS now.

Creative Aurvana Lives or the HD 448s?

I can't weigh in on the CAL! vs the HD448.  I have only heard the HD280 and HD595.  I did like the CAL! better than those two though.  I should say that I don't like the "laid back" Senn sound signature.   You won't know which you like without trying them for yourself.  That's the first...

[GUIDE] Sonic Differences Between DT770-DT990 Models & More

Zombie_X, are you going to put the DT150 & DT250 in here?  I spent some time with the DT150 recently, and thought it fit in-between my DT990-250 and my M50, but didn't think it gave me anything special to make me want to keep it.  I would love to see it thrown in the mix though.   -edited to...

Which grado for audio gd fun?

LOL.  I played in band in HS, and percussion ensemble and symphonic orchestra in college before deciding that I really needed to graduate.  And although I do not have that great of an ear, I can hear most of the differences that I have read about.  What I am saying is that those differences are...

Which grado for audio gd fun?

I'm not here to argue with more experienced people.  I will agree that the MS2's were more "unrefined" sounding and fatiguing when powered by the uDAC, than the Fun, so there's truth in what you're saying.  It's just that I think most people exaggerate the differences.   You are 100% right...

Creative Aurvana Lives or the HD 448s?

When I passed the CAL! around my office with the Q40, ES7, SR60, and Triports, most people preferred the CAL!.  I preferred the SR60 and ES7 though.  Just depends on what you're looking for.  I also like the M50 more than any of those...

[GUIDE] Sonic Differences Between DT770-DT990 Models & More

I have a question for the more experienced Beyer guys.   I have a DT990 250ohm, which is my current favorite set.  I was thinking of trying a set of DT770 to see if they have a bit better bass (a bit more bass, and more impact) without giving up much in the other areas of the DT990 sound...

Which grado for audio gd fun?

Here's my $0.02,   I had 60's with a uDAC, then moved to MS2i's, only to find the difference between them and the 60's to be very small.  I then got a Fun, which was a very obvious upgrade from the uDAC.  I briefly tried the RS1's only to think that they were not worth the cost increase for...

    Winamp vs Foobar2000 ?!

I did some listening to foobar yesterday versus songbird, and also didn't hear any differences.  I will keep playing around with foobar, just in case I end up finding something I like.  I did see that songbird has a WASAPI addin available, but I didn't install it since I'm on xp.
