HifiMan HE6 V2 Adorama
These are definitely the best headphones I've ever heard for house and techno. I am so excited to hear them with a proper amp. I'm still planning a Topping L70, but I've already got a banana plug adapter cable on the way to try a speaker amp.- prozach1576

HifiMan HE6 V2 Adorama
I'm generally a fan of the Harman target curve, so I'm pretty happy with the bass shelf. I bought these largely for the bass capabilities, so I hear you on needing some power to get the most out of them. I'm just pleasantly surprised by what the Atom can do; I'd prepared myself for worse...- prozach1576

HifiMan HE6 V2 Adorama
These arrived today and wow! Tonal balance out of the box was not quite to my liking, but they sound great with the oratory1990 EQ applied. I was expecting my Atom to be woefully inadequate to get these to a nice listening level, especially with a -5.5dB preamp gain, but maxed out on high gain...- prozach1576

The $400 price drop has me thinking that they might be close to selling through the run of these. That's why I had to finally give in and pick up a pair, need for a new amp be damned. I've always wanted a pair.- prozach1576

I finally ordered a pair of these. Would a Modius be adequate power if I feed it a balanced signal from my Qudelix 5K? I plan to experiment with a speaker amp eventually but I'd also love to use these with a sleeker setup at work.- prozach1576

Moondrop in-ear monitors Impressions Thread
Any chance someone has heard both the Starfield and the Radsone HE100s and could compare? I own the latter, and am happy with them, but I'm considering passing them onto my wife and trying something new. The Starfield seems like it might be in the same wheelhouse and offer a bit of an upgrade.- prozach1576

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android
I cannot get UAPP to scrobble to my last.fm account, either using the app's built-in functionality or with an external scrobbler like Scroball. Is this a known issue? Is there some kind of trick to it?- prozach1576

Monolith M1070 Over Ear Open Back Planar Headphones
I'm pretty excited about these as I have been looking for a planar upgrade for my HE4XX. If reviews suggest these beat the Sundaras, they'll be it.- prozach1576

Fiio E18
I just got an E18 yesterday. I have a Nexus 5 running a CM11 nightly from a week or so ago. I can't lock the phone with music playing through the E18 either. Fortunately the screen will turn off on its own after a few minutes. Also, pressing the back button within a music app while music...- prozach1576

Android phones and USB DACs
Although as an owner of the phone it's not so good, it's always nice to get empirical evidence backing up my subjective opinion that it was godawful sound quality. Note how he observes that the worst distortion is at the highest volume settings. Well, the headphone amp is so quiet and...- prozach1576

Android phones and USB DACs
I have only used Spotify so far but I will try Play Music and see if it's any better. Is the Spotify Android app known to have any quality issues? I found the "extreme" quality level adequate for my needs in iOS. I would like to avoid managing local files and rely on a streaming service...- prozach1576

Android phones and USB DACs
I'm using franco.Kernel to boost the gain on the headphone output, so I'm getting decent volume now. I just think it sounds very harsh, sibilant, and compressed compared to the sound on my iPhone 4S, which was smooth and transparent. I'm getting fatigue after an hour or less. I'm using...- prozach1576

Android phones and USB DACs
This is great news. Can't wait for CM11. The Nexus 5 audio is just awful out-of-the-box, coming from an iPhone 4S that I was totally satisfied with.- prozach1576

I have a turntable, powered speakers, headphones, uDAC and need upgrade advice
Quote: This does not look like it would offer me an upgrade from the uDAC-2 in terms of DAC quality or amplification (well maybe with amplification because it wouldn't take much to improve upon the godawful uDAC channel imbalance). It does have the connectivity I need, but it seems to be...- prozach1576

I have a turntable, powered speakers, headphones, uDAC and need upgrade advice
I need a new piece of equipment to tie my setup together and possibly upgrade my digital source. My budget is $500 max but preferably less. My current equipment: Pro-Ject RM 1.3 turntable Pro-Ject Phono Box S phono stage Nuforce uDAC-2 Swan M200 MKIII powered speakers...- prozach1576

Schiit DACs (Bifrost and Gungnir down, one to go)? The information and anticipation thread.
What is the point of a sample-rate indicator? If I have a high-res music file, I know it and am well-aware of the sample rate and bit depth. Seems like a superfluous feature.- prozach1576

Schiit DACs (Bifrost and Gungnir down, one to go)? The information and anticipation thread.
I'm sure it's been said, but man, I wish this DAC had more than one set of outputs. The ability to easily toggle between headphones and my Swan desktop speakers is essential for me.- prozach1576

Audio-GD NFB-12
Can someone explain to me the difference between the amplifier section on the NFB-12 and the older Audio-GD DAC/amp combos like the FUN and the Compass? I know that the FUN and the Compass use opamps and the NFB-12 doesn't, but I don't understand the significance. What are the advantages and...- prozach1576

Classical
That top 100 list is an excellent starting point, but skip the Wagner operas at first. They are not accessible to a newcomer to classical music. Mozart is the best introduction to opera. Swan/HiVi?
There is a huge "Swan Owners Thread" over at AVS Forum where people who have experience with a wide variety of Swan speakers congregate. Jon from The Audio Insider (their US internet dealer) hangs out there too and will answer questions. http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=857183- prozach1576

Swan/HiVi?
I have the Swan M200MkIII and they're probably the best "toy" I've ever bought myself. I'm consistently blown away by how rich and detailed the sound is. I feel like a bit of a shill for hyping them in every thread, but it's how I feel. Whenever I eventually put together a component stereo...- prozach1576
