    [Review] Audio Technica ATH-IM02 - Re-living The CK10 Sound

Thank you!! Cheers :)     Pretty decent isolation for me - the improved fit because of the cables does help. Not sure how to quantify the isolation for you but it is way better than CK10 for me. I would think it would be pretty comparable to any other 2/3 driver universal fit earphone...

    Audio Technica ATH-CK10

By harsh do you mean IM02 having too much sibilance at the top end making it too bright on the ears? Just wondering because I would describe IM02 smoother than CK10 by all means - could be just a different choice of words though.

    Audio Technica ATH-CK10

Check out IM02 which I found at very very similar in sound to CK10. I got them recently and don't miss the CK10 anymore!!

    [Review] Audio Technica ATH-IM02 - Re-living The CK10 Sound

Sorry, I don't have them for a direct comparison. From the reviews I read on Altone 200, they look to be very accomplished! Why didn't I choose them over the IM02 for my preference? The reviews put their sound as more dry and slightly recessed mids. I don't find the steel housings particularly...

    Audio Technica ATH-CK10

Definitely agree with your first experience. BA drivers are very very different in their response compared with dynamic and CK10 are definitely one of the best implementation of dual knowles drivers. I have tried multiple earphones in the similar and lesser price range - dynamic, single BA...

    Audio Technica ATH-CK10

After owning CK10 a couple of years back (and painfully having to sell them off), I've just purchased ATH-IM02.   Posted my short review and comparison with CK10 here: www.head-fi.org/t/753438/short-review-audio-technica-ath-im02-dual-driver-ba    Will be happy to answer any questions on...

    [Review] Audio Technica ATH-IM02 - Re-living The CK10 Sound

My first proper review on Head-Fi - please be kind :) (sorry about the crappy pictures in advance) Kept the review short so happy to answer questions in the thread. Background: I have been an audio enthusiast for about 10 years now. Living in India, access to quality audio hardware has...

    On-Ear Headphone Advice

I love my v-JAYS and they have gotten good reviews everywhere on the web. They might be a little over your budget with the MSRP, but I think you should be able to find them discounted somewhere for about 60-70 bucks.  Here is a good review by forum member shigzeo...

    Why are IEMs expensive?

A lot of research goes into creating and fine-tuning of IEMs. It's not just a matter of putting together a bunch of plastic and metal and calling it an IEM - probably that's what you get when you pay $5 for one.   If the manufacturer is serious about sound, they would experiment with...

A companion to sleep on the side with? Yes, I AM in the right forum! ;-)

+1 for the q-JAYS as well...I slept with them for over 2 years and they never let me down!

ATH-CK10: identifying fakes, will it play nicely with my music, and other pre-plunge questions

    1. I mostly use them for 192/256 kbps MP3s and they sound pretty stellar - no noticeable artifacts!   2. If you do not trust Accessory Jack (They seem to be alright in terms of what I have read around the forums), you can try contacting Dimitri from Musica Acoustics. He has a shop in Tokyo...

IEMs for small ear canals. $250 budget

Q-jays or CK10 - they are both really small and offer exceptional sound quality at their prices.

    Replacement tips for ATH-CK10?

Yep the following are the ones which are the most popular (in my order of preference) if you go through the awesome CK10 thread: 1. Sony Hybrids (Original/Compatible) (My favourite) 2. Monster Tr-flanges (Original/Compatible)  3. CK100 Foamies 4. Shure Olives/Tri-Flanges   and then...

Am I through with Portable audio?

Sad to see you go - I enjoyed your reviews and impressions - and your tests with Trance music were something I easily relate to. Your review was one of the major reasons for me buying the CK10 and dare I say - I have stopped looking at other IEMs since then. These phones are indeed so good - you...

    Audio Technica ATH-CK10

Sometimes when using these - I wonder if buying a back-up pair, in case AT decide to retire them, would make sense. They are just that good! :)  Is anyone else thinking of doing the same?

    Universal IEMs that are STURDY?

Best choice within that budget - but I don't think any pair of IEMs - no matter how well built can take the kind of abuse you are describing (atleast from the sound of it). You do not have to baby them - but just taking the effort of putting them in their (awesome) case and not yanking the cable...

Looking to buy Audio Technica CK10 - headphonehifi.com trusted?

He does not have them listed on the website, but as his shop is based in Tokyo, he does have it in stock..or can easily get it sourced from somewhere. I also purchased my CK10 from him in February...and would highly recommend you to buy from him. He also offers special prices for head-fi.org...

Recommendation: Q-Jays or SE535 for an extra $100

SE535 are definitely better than the q-JAYS..and the difference is well worth the extra $100. To my ears the 535 are slightly less veiled and still manage to bring out the details in the upper part of the range, without any of the q-JAYS sibilance. q-JAYS mids are also quite a lot recessed...
