nigeljames, you are correct regarding the LCD-2 four-pin mini XLR ;  you can solder either pin 1 or 4 for Live, and either pin 2 or 3 for Ground. That's not necessary to short pin 1 with 4, and pin 2 with 3 at this DIY mini-XLR female plug, because both 1-4 and 2-3 are already shorted at the LCD...

I have the v100 ... it is not black backgrouding ... it is silent . Like the Pioneer KUDO : it is dark,but not not black in colour ; many tiny info [b]that are previously obscured but it is there, and should be there.

Could someone tell me the AKG K-1000 pin designation on its 4-pin XLR ? Do you guys follow this pin designation when modifying the phones for Balance drive ?

Continous effective output:2W+2W/8Ω ,1W+1W/16Ω, 500mW+500mW/32Ω 27mW+27mW/600Ω these translate into that the P1u output stage works at ( a stable ! ) RMS 4 Volts, not pretty much.

Maybe the 5-pin comes from the professional sector ... don't know but only my guess; or the 5th pin is the shielding connection for some headphone cables ?
