GTA Spring 2016 meet
A few quick things! First of all, thank you again for organizing this. My father is not a member on head-fi but would very much like to come. He attended along with me at the 2010 (I believe it was) meet. His name is Brian. Bryan, it's great to see that you'll be attending! I'm sorry to hear...- Darksyde

Grado Fan Club!
Thank you for all of your responses! It's good to see that Grado fans can appreciate the HD-800s (it always seemed to me that you would be in one camp or the other). The curiosity began with me when I got my GH1s and was comparing them with thr RS2e. While I liked the bass on the GH1, I found...- Darksyde

Grado Fan Club!
Thank you for the reply. Grados are certainly easy to drive! If I get the HD800, I will look into the BH Crack as I have heard only good things about it. I listen to a lot of alternative rock, and I haven't seen a lot of people comment on the HD800's ability to perform with those types of...- Darksyde

Grado Fan Club!
I've been a Grado fan for years now, but have had the pleasure of auditioning the Sennheiser HD800 recently (albeit, in a noisy store). Much to my surprise, they sounded lively, bright, and transparent. Any other Grado fans out there who have thoughts on the HD800? Edit: I have a PS500...- Darksyde

Grado RS1i Impressions thread
A fellow poster on these forums by the name of Nerrel had this to say about the RS2e vs RS1i: post #4395 post #4650 post #4675 I had owned the RS1i a long time ago, and have the RS2e now, but what he's saying definitely makes sense to me.- Darksyde

GTA Spring 2016 meet
Great to see this coming together! I took a long break from audio, but I had a wonderful time meeting all of you back in 2010. I'd very much like to come this time around! I just received my Grado GH1, and would be happy to bring it. Cheers!- Darksyde

Grado GH-1 Discussion
The RS2e is bright, but Grado did a very nice job refining the highs; they are neither sharp, nor peaky. They extend very naturally from the midrange and smoothly all the way up, resulting in a very coherent sound. I did not experience issues with fatigue, but I did find that I had the desire to...- Darksyde

@joseph69 The seller on eBay noted around 50 hours of use. @TomNC The RS2e is a great headphone, and I highly recommend it to Grado lovers. However, I see no need for it if you own the GH1, as I feel that the GH1 is strong in many of the same ways as the RS2e, while not suffering from...- Darksyde

My GH1 has arrived! I was disappointed to find the workmanship to be poor; the drivers are recessed a millimeter, and the lip that holds the pads on is covered in large burrs, literally being unsanded (it looks the the wood was hastily cut and never finished). I will post pictures when I follow...- Darksyde

I bought the pair that was listed on eBay. Thank you, krud484 for pointing me in the right direction! I should hopefully have them in a couple of weeks. I honestly didn't think I'd have a chance to own these, so I'm looking forward to sharing my thoughts on them. Thanks again, everyone!- Darksyde

Thank you for the head's up! Very tempting, indeed. It's too bad we can't swap headphones for a bit, since we're both curious about each others What are your thoughts on the GH1s, to a perspective buyer? Wow, getting a lot of interesting feedback! Thank you, Kayandjohn for the thoughtful report! I really enjoy these discussions. Still hesitating on the GH1 a little-- it sounds like it may not entirely be the RS2e+ that I was imagining. It's really too bad that I have no way to audition them...- Darksyde

You're doing a good job of convincing me! Probably going to pull the trigger later today. Expect a detailed comparison of the GH1, RS2e, PS500, and PS500e when I receive them in a few weeks. Also, I already have a pair of G-cush floating around, so I'm looking forward to trying that too! ...- Darksyde

Hey guys! I left the headphone game for a good 5 years. It started back in grade 8, when I ate my way up the Grado food chain until I purchased a pair of RS1is new from the store. All my money-- gone! I eventually gave up on trying to find the perfect sound, and sold all my headphones in...- Darksyde

How much of a difference do cables make?
This is a very controversial topic and one that will likely not be put to rest until some fanatic is Uganda conducts a double-triple-blind test. Interestingly enough, changing the cable on my HE-5LEs from the OFC to the SPC (silver-plated copper) did yield noticeable results. The...- Darksyde
