    IEMs for live musician: Recommendations?

IMO any of these would stay fit, IE8 does come with a pair of ear hooks that really hold the cables in case of rigorous physical activities, they are pretty light and once you twist them around to fit your ears you'll forget they are there after a while (that's how I lost one... I forgot that...

    Sennheiser IE8 Impressions Thread

@dragoonf144 Thanks, but you haven't seen nothing yet... The mod in my avatar is nothing overkill-wise compared to what I'm playing with now. I do give some rough lovin', hopefully they can handle it cuz otherwise I'll have to find a new housing

    Sennheiser IE8 Impressions Thread

Tip mods are kind of like custom tips, what works for one might not work another. If you wish to have another go though, don't hesitate to pm me and describe where you are stuck, i.e. why do you think you can't get a seal. I can give you a few tips to try that could help. As for aesthetics...

    Is IE8 really a $400?

@MetroBBoy YMMV, many also loved them straight out of the box, and most said that the first 24 hrs give the most improvement. You can definitely use the money saved to order custom tips, and that combo beats SE530 any day(except isolation).

    Is IE8 really a $400?

Depending on your store's return policy, I'd recommend another 2 weeks or so not just for burn-in but also for you testing different tips and different ways to wear/insert them. As for the amount of burn-in IE8 requires it's quite out there, many heard huge differences after the first 24...

How many of you actullay believe IE8 burn in effect?

@Ed seedhouse: Golly! Sir, if you want talk empirical evidence, please post the procedure and result of a scientific experiment similar to one containing 10 dynamics IEM/headphone, 1 500 hr burned-in another, completely unused and the rest randomly burned. Providing the identified burn-ed/not...

How many of you actullay believe IE8 burn in effect?

@Ed Seedhouse: It's a moot point debating whether your ear adapted to the new IEM or your perception changed, the question is is that enough to explain what we experienced? No, with the IE8 appreciation thread as the source of information, just statistically line up people who heard IE8...

Treble sensitivity and headaches? Anyone else?

You can hardly get any sibilance with IE8, and personally never.

    In dubio: IE8, W3 or UM3X?

Definitely the tips, my bad source didn't diminish the treble more than the bass: they all suffered.

How many of you actullay believe IE8 burn in effect?

@GN85: Simply because it's not a slight difference Mine opened around 450hr, and now they are close to 2khr. There's no standard amount IMO, we hear what we hear. What you really notice after a period of time if you listen to the same set of songs daily is some small subtle detail you...

Bass ahoy! A comparison of the Monster Turbines, JVC-Victor FX500, Sennheiser IE8 and Audio Technica CKS70.

@Honeyboy: I'd think my opinions are too "aggressive" myself It's more of a neon light sign: "Hey guys, I know you really enjoy your FX500 and they sound better on several aspects compared to the IE8, but don't give up on these more expensive phones, there's a lot more space for...

    How often new models released?

OT: Alas, F31FD (altered v. of F30) is one superb and small camera, if only Fujifilm update the firmware so it has a histogram, true manual mode, manual focus, add a custom self-timer and make sure it's in effect as long as you don't toggle it off... that be perfect. I don't really think...

You wait for other people to buy them and read about what they heard, repeat until you are satisfied with what you chose. As for specification, ES3X, one of the flagship customs and highly praised if not deemed to be perfect: Frequency response: 20 Hz - 18 kHz. As for Sennheiser IE6/7/8s...

How to equalize your headphones: A Tutorial

To reset VST Host's setting (so you can start foobar2000), go to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data and delete GeorgeYohngVST.ini The best way is to not use VST Host to store your effect chain, but instead use it to load a proper chainer VST (Acon EffectChainer...

@zenpunk: Mingo is an IEM company based in HongKong, contact them to see if there's authorized reseller (doubt it) in your area or if they ship internationally. As to senior members who own and/or experienced high end gears suggesting that they like FX500 better and that FX500 surpass IE8...

    OMG! - Buying new IEMs

@3X0: Try this, tape the bass dial (dial it to max), invert the half-bi-flange, decore a pair of complys and use the core to connect the complys and the large opening of the half-bi-flange. There's also the option to cut the complys in half, put it underneath a sony hybrid and use the core...

    OMG! - Buying new IEMs

A looser seal and taped bass dial will solve the "overwhelming bass", but I haven't experienced that after 1000hr.
