Future Sonics Atrio MG7 Review and Appreciation thread
Atrio M5 / MG7 drivers - comments / mini review: Packaging: The recycled packaging everyone's raving about seems just fine. Easy enough to tear open and get to the goods. Lots of little baggies for the various tips and pieces. The little carrying case is pretty nice, slim and with...- sprocket87

Quote: I've placed an order for the BlueLink combo kit myself and should be getting it today or tomorrow. Here's what I can say about your Q's: 1. BlueLink is the Future Sonics Bluetooth wireless receiver. Basically, you pair it with any device (laptop/PC/smartphone/car head unit)...- sprocket87

So I placed my order yesterday at about 11am.... fast forward to today at 2:30pm and my order still shows "awaiting fulfillment". My CC has been charged already, yet I've received no shipping notice or status update. Is this normal? :\- sprocket87

Quote: I wanted the brown really bad, but I ordered the combo kit with the Bluelink receiver included. The description didn't specify a color, but the photo on the product page showed the blue IEMs. I added a note to my order comments to request the chocolate color instead. We'll see if...- sprocket87

Future Sonics Atrio MG7 Review and Appreciation thread
Just placed an order for a pair. These will be my first $100+ IEMs so I have high hopes (though I try not to hype myself up too much). I used the 50% off coupon code and ordered the combo pack with the IEMs and the Bluelink bluetooth receiver, just because I've wanted something like that to use...- sprocket87

Combo phono & headphone amp. Advice?
Back from the dead! I took a break from electronics learning for awhile since we had a baby right around the time I posted this, so I've not had much time. But now I'm ready to get cracking on this amp. Nothing much has changed, any newcomers want to give it a once-over and offer some tips...- sprocket87

Potless CMoy: Need Ideas for v2.0
Tangent has a basic schematic for a NiMH trickle charger on his Pimeta page. Basically you just need a diode or two plus a resistor and an LM317 voltage regulator. It's not intelligent (dumb straight trickle charge only, you have to match your charging voltage and resistor value to the battery...- sprocket87

Combo phono & headphone amp. Advice?
Quote: OK, thanks very much. I assume you mean in the phono preamp stage, and those are part of the RIAA equalization network (vinyl records are EQ'd a specific way when mastered and won't sound right without this).- sprocket87

Combo phono & headphone amp. Advice?
Quote: Thanks for the feedback. I'll answer your Q's as best I can: - The reason I put the LM7818 in place was to act as a linear regulator since whatever 24V wall transformer I end up using will likely be a cheap unregulated one. This was based off some info on Tangent's site...- sprocket87

I tried to build a CMOY myself but I failed.. Anybody could help with trouble shooting?
Here's a nice article on breadboards which might clear it up: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breadboard- sprocket87

No, you used perfboard not breadboard. Breadboard is a bigger plastic board full of rows of holes that are connected together. So youd have two columns of say 5 holes each that are electrically connected underneath the plastic. Then you stick in your components and connect them to each other...- sprocket87

Combo phono & headphone amp. Advice?
Thanks for the reply! What you said about splitting the boxes makes perfect sense -- but I still don't wanna ;-) I can see the wisdom of it but I'll probably reserve that for later builds. I have a "vision" for this one, for the enclosure, some frills, etc. I really would like it to be...- sprocket87

Combo phono & headphone amp. Advice?
Hey all, I'm working on my first amp design. I want to do a combination RIAA-equalized phono preamp and headphone amp. I want to be able to listen to my turntable in a discreet area without having a large stereo receiver around. The goals for my project are: - Small, portable...- sprocket87

I'm new to this too but I'm getting ready to build my first Cmoy and your schematic looks right to me. But again, I'm no expert. Did you test this on a breadboard before soldering the PCB? Would be good to test it that way to verify the design works before soldering it. Maybe you...- sprocket87
