I have around 100 cds and near 150 vinyl.     Plus tons of stuff CD-Rs given to me by friends. 

Also check out some God Speed! You Black Emperor and This will Destroy You.   They both are somewhat similar to Explosions in the Sky.   Have really soft parts but then they slowly build it up and it goes back to soft and so on.

So far I have been really enjoying the new Decemberists and Iron & Wine.     I'm extremely excited about the new Strokes, Explosions in the Sky, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Fleet Foxes, and Mars Volta.  

Anyone have any info on the vinyl release yet?  I thought I remember reading back when the cd was released that the vinyl was coming in January.  I guess that info was wrong.

I too have to suggest Therion.  Gothic Kabbalah, Lemuria, and Sirius B are great albums.  They have a new one out, but I have yet to hear it.   Symphony X is another good one.  The Odyssey is by far my favorite album of theirs.   Also try Nightwish as others have suggested.  

The one song that I have heard sounded amazing!  Thanks for the impressions Gazza; I am now going to be anxiously awaiting the arrival of my copy.
