    Yamamoto Sound Craft HA-02

Great to see there's still some love out there for the HA-02. Still have mine, close to 13 years now but doesn't get as much use as it should. Most of my current headphone use is in a bedroom setup with a Violectric V200 but occasionally I swap the Yamamoto in for a couple of weeks just to keep...

    HiFiMan RE-600 Review

I managed to get about 8 months use out of mine. Used them maybe 3 times a week for about an hour each day. Really babied them after reading about cable failures but mine started to develop an intermittent loss of sound to one channel which I eventually traced to a fault at the jack. Really...

    Hifiman IEM's: RE-400 and RE-600

I've had my RE 600s for about 6 months now, use it with a Fiio X3/E12A and quite possibly the best headphone I own. Yes I do have concerns about durability given the many negative comments but the sound out ways any doubts. If I could find a full size headphone with the same sound I'd be on it...

Excellent review and as others have said, understandable, without being laden with technical jargon or audiophile gobbly gook.  I'm another mid 60s listener and owner of the earlier X3. Good sound, easy to use and does everything it should when required. Since pairing it with the Fiio E12A I find...

New Zealand Headphone Meet MK II, 2015 Ed.

Would love to be there, shame I'm at the wrong end of the country. Cheaper to get the Aus than Akld.

Great tip-thanks. Waiting for my amp to arrive to pair with my X3 and either the RE-600s or PM-3.

Reply to review by 'tuatara' on item 'OPPO PM-3'

" For the price, I think they are fair, but Oppo could have given a bit more. That 1.2 M cable for us here in NZ would have done nicely. "   Just  had a phone call from from my supplying shop offering a choice of either of the 2 inline control cables as a freebie upgrade. It appears the importer...

Oppo PM-3 : The Portable Planar - Impressions

The rrp for the PM-3 in NZ is NZ$599. Seems high but if you do the exchange rate plus freight it's close to the USA cost.    I have no doubt that this will drop around the end of the year as both the PM-1 and HA-1 have dropped in price since I purchased them locally.

Oppo PM-3 : The Portable Planar - Impressions

Had mine for 6 days now and while I'm quite happy with the SQ I'm less pleased about the clamping pressure. I have tried some gentle bending of the head band and that has helped a little but at this stage half an hour is about tops for me before things get uncomfortable. The PM-3 was going to...

OPPO To Reveal PM-3 Planar Magnetic Headphones and HA-2 Portable Headphone Amplifier at RMAF

I know. For once I listened to the voice of  reason. I wont be using the PM-3 outside the house though so there's a fair chance a white version would stay fairly pristine.

The white phone looks really nice- almost wish I'd got one instead of black.

OPPO To Reveal PM-3 Planar Magnetic Headphones and HA-2 Portable Headphone Amplifier at RMAF

My PM-3 turned up today. Only had chance for a very quick play so no snap judgments. As others have said, shame we dont get the option of a shorter cable in this part of the world so I'll be getting a plain one for my Fiio X3 direct from the States. Packaging as per usual is very well done and...

    Oppo HA-1 Impressions Thread

Hoping to very soon once the PM-3 arrives and I can swap the PM-1 back out to my music room. I've spent very little time with that combo so far-mainly using the HA-1 with Audeze phones.

OPPO To Reveal PM-3 Planar Magnetic Headphones and HA-2 Portable Headphone Amplifier at RMAF

Got all excited as my supplier was showing in stock on their web site but it turns out some one was jumping the gun posting that. Did question about cables being supplied and they were fairly sure that the NZ importer had indicated that the phones will come with 2 .

OPPO To Reveal PM-3 Planar Magnetic Headphones and HA-2 Portable Headphone Amplifier at RMAF

Shouldn't be too far away for Aus and NZ. The shop I've pre ordered with phoned yesterday to say they're expecting mine to arrive Monday and I should get them mid week.

    Oppo HA-1 Impressions Thread

Sorry to disagree with a fellow country man but I find both my Audeze phones to work very well with the HA-1. Having said that I rarely use the Oppo DAC as the majority of my listening is done on vinyl so mainly feeding the analogue side of the amp. The few times I have ran digital( flac/Hi Rez...

OPPO To Reveal PM-3 Planar Magnetic Headphones and HA-2 Portable Headphone Amplifier at RMAF

Good comprehensive review, thanks for the time and trouble. Looking forward to getting my pair whenever they hit New Zealand shores. I'll probably be a bit different from most owners in that my pair is destined for a bedroom system along side the W1000X and the PM-1 can finally go back to my...

OPPO To Reveal PM-3 Planar Magnetic Headphones and HA-2 Portable Headphone Amplifier at RMAF

Just placed an order for the PM-3 with a local store, hopefully see it in a couple of weeks. I was going to wait and get the red but with no supply date for them it'll be black for me. They may end up taking over in my bedroom system and then the PM-1 can go out to my music room and play with...

OPPO To Reveal PM-3 Planar Magnetic Headphones and HA-2 Portable Headphone Amplifier at RMAF

Haven't heard the HA-2. I see one NZ shop listing 5 different colours for the PM-3. Black, red, white, blue and green.  Talking to them today they're expecting first shipment very soon.

OPPO To Reveal PM-3 Planar Magnetic Headphones and HA-2 Portable Headphone Amplifier at RMAF

Since it appears that I cant bypass the Fiio X3 dac into the HA-2 I think I'll by pass the on amp and just get the PM-3. Shame the Oppo doesn't have coax in but you can't have everything.

OPPO To Reveal PM-3 Planar Magnetic Headphones and HA-2 Portable Headphone Amplifier at RMAF

I dont wish to derail this thread but really you need to realise that the price quoted above for the HA-1 is NOT $700 above Oppo's rrp. The price noted at the Listening Post is in New Zealand dollars. Now no matter if you purchase the amp from ebay or Oppo and pay $1199US that equates to...

OPPO To Reveal PM-3 Planar Magnetic Headphones and HA-2 Portable Headphone Amplifier at RMAF

I think you need to compare apples with apples and take a look at the country where the shop is, in this case New Zealand.   In defense of the store in question they usually can move a bit on their listed price if you're paying cash.I paid NZ $1800 for my PM-1 from them.  Also dont forget...

OPPO To Reveal PM-3 Planar Magnetic Headphones and HA-2 Portable Headphone Amplifier at RMAF

Will there be a way to use the HA-2 with a Fiio X3 and by pass the Fiio dac to use the DAC in the Oppo?
