Similar sound signature to yamaha eph-100

Never heard of a woox X2, just did a quick search. It seems they are counterfeit X2s and the pads are not removable on the Woox X2 knockoffs.

Similar sound signature to yamaha eph-100

I am looking for warm, sort of basshead heaphones similar to the X1s but with removable pads. I really like the sound of Fidelio X1s, but I had to get rid of them because the pads are not removable and they just soak up too much sweat and grease during summer. I also really like the sound of...

    Shure SE215. Pain.

I bought 2 pairs at once to test out. Shure se215 and yamaha eph-100. The eph100 just arrived today and after trying them out for 10 minutes I started packing the shures to send back.  They are lighter, comfier, easier and quicker to put on, cheaper, and sound better (less muddy, punchier bass...

    Shure SE215. Pain.

Bought these as my first IEMs. Read raves online on how comfortable they are only to find out that these are nothing but pain. I tried all the included foam tips as well as the rubber ones that come with the earphones. The rubber ones are more comfortable but the loss in sound quality is too...

    Washed headphones. Sound seems different

Thanks a ton! I went ahead and sprayed down the solder points with some deoxit and then after a while I went ahead and re-soldered.  They sound much better.    The reason I washed them first is because I tried taking off the cups but it was too difficult and I did not want to damage anything...

    Washed headphones. Sound seems different

Yes and yes. There is a very very slight echo and there is definitely a significant drop in volume. How to fix? I'm not sure which wire is ground but I have a soldering kit.

    Washed headphones. Sound seems different

Nope, I dunked 'em.  I took em apart, rather, ripped them apart since the pads don't twist off or anything. Apart from a ton of black gunk glue **** everywhere it wasn't bad. I wiped down the stuff and applied some deoxit to the solder points. Gonna let it sit with its guts out for a bit to air...

    Washed headphones. Sound seems different

So since the padding on the Fidelio X1 is not removable I decided to wash them..completely. Water + dish detergent seemed to get a lot of the grease and dirt out. I let them dry for 3 days. Plugged them in, seemed to sound fine at first.   But upon closer listening I noticed that something...

JDS Labs <0.1 ohm audio cable

Furthermore, impedance is the resistance to a current when you supply voltage.

JDS Labs <0.1 ohm audio cable

The stock X1 cable has impedance of something like 1.8, which is abnormally high. The cable impedance makes a big impact on the bass of these headphones, which is what makes these headphones.

JDS Labs <0.1 ohm audio cable

Oddly peculiar that $220-$250 headphones would have a poor quality interconnect cable while just any other cable is "decent".

JDS Labs <0.1 ohm audio cable

I don't know about excellent. This was my first purchase from them and not only did they send me a wrong cable, it was also from monoprice.I contacted them though and they said they will re-ship on Monday.

JDS Labs <0.1 ohm audio cable

Is this accurate? Does the JDSLabs 3.5mm audio cable really have <0.1 ohm impedance? http://www.jdslabs.com/products/145/jds-labs-3-5mm-interconnect-cable/   I have no way to test this.   I'm asking because I purchased Fidelio X1s and looking to replace the cable. Most are recommending the...

    [New] Philips Fidelio X1

I'm not very daring and I would be afraid to damage anything. Is there a disassemble guide anywhere?

    [New] Philips Fidelio X1

    Loving the X1s but the non-replaceable earpads and the padding on the top is disappointing. I got them used, traded my He-300 for them and I would love to be able to wash them to get the previous owner's smell out.   ;_;

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

Traded my Hifiman He-300 headphones for Fidelio X1s. They've yet to arrive. Hopefully this was a good trade. But, now I read that there is X2?!

    Trade HE-300 for Fidelio X1?

I have a pair of He-300s and been meaning to try something else, something maybe bassier but still good sounding.   My He-300s for X1s, decent trade?   Let me know what you think.

    Amp for HifiMan HE-300

Loving my HE-300s but the bass feels lackluster. Would adding an amp improve the bass at all? Currently using an old Asus Xonar DG PCI sound card which claims to have a built-in headphone amp.

How does the HiFiMan HE-300 compare to the Sennheiser HD558 and HD598?

Thanks for the response. I returned the 558 and kept the HE300 a couple weeks ago. I really liked how comfortable the 558s were and how light they were. I also preferred the oval earcups on the 558s over the round on HE300s. The cable on the 558s is also "better" in my opinion, primarily...

How does the HiFiMan HE-300 compare to the Sennheiser HD558 and HD598?

From what I read the HE-300s aren't that difficult to drive either. A plain Xonar DG should be fine.

How does the HiFiMan HE-300 compare to the Sennheiser HD558 and HD598?

What are the major sound differences? If you had experience with the HE-300 and HD 598/558 what are some of the differences? I know 1 for sure is that the cable on the HE-300 is widely hated. Considering the HE-300 even though I have the HD558s. The HD558 are still within the 30 day return...

    Replacing ATH-M50s, Brainwavz HM5 or Senn HD558?

My setup is very mediocre. Cheap Asus Xonar DG sound card with its built-in "headphone amp".   I've been using the M50S for about 2 years. Right off the bat I found them uncomfortable after about an hour of use but I endured it because I liked the sound coming from my cheapo Panasonics that...

A Concise View of Why The ATH-M50 is No Longer King

Got my m50s new in box from this site for $85. One of the best purchases I've made. Not sure I'd pay more than $100 though.
