  Nice setup  Viper. I see you are feeding the DA8 through the SB Touch coax output. Did you compare the coax to the USB ? I also have a SB Touch + DA8 but I never tried the coaxial output (I'm not even sure I have a coaxial cable !?!?).

The T1 are not horrible with the CMA800R. But they are not great either.  It's just that the HD800 sounds so much better. It's disturbing for me since I've always prefered the T1. I'll have to do a serious comparison with the T1/Soloist combo to be sure I'm not crazy !

Yes it's normal. With the Sylvania 7236 the meters were at around 40.

My MKVI+ had the exact same problem. The hum from the transformer was so loud that I had to send it back to Little Dot. It seems they don't learn from their mistakes ... If I were you I'd ask for a refund.

-1 for the WA2 + T1 combo !  Really too laid back and lush for my taste ! I really prefer the Little Dot MKVI+. It's more detailed, better dynamic, better soundstage. And you can get a used MKVI+ for less than 700 $ in the classifieds !!     The B22 is also a great match for the T1.  ...

I have briefly owned bothamp (Phoenix & Mjolnir) and IMHO they are not a great match with the T1. The Phoenix was too dark and lush while the Mjolnir was too bright and "In your face". In my system the MKVI+ is a much better match.

I've used the WA2 and the MKVI+ with the T1 and I endend up selling the WA2. The WA2 is really too smooth and lush for my taste. The MKVI+ is much more dynamic, a bit more SS sounding than the WA2. I think the MKVI+ is one of the most underrated amp on Head-Fi. 

The bass on the Mjolnir is clean, tight, very dynamic with a lot of impact but IMHO not very good at revealing texture and nuance. I haven't listend to the BHA-1 alot but the bass sounded pretty similar to the Mjolnir.                                                                              ...

My B22 is a 3-channel build. I also prefer the bass on the B22. It doesn't have the slam and the impact of the BHA-1 bass but it has a lot more "texture" and details IMHO. The fact that it doesn't have the same impact may give the impression that it's bloomy-er ? 

Sorry but the MKVI+ has been in a box since I got the B22. I'll try to do a short comparison.
