+1 In this part of the world people use the Conducfil Sonolene 3014 (or the 3414 model), quite a stiff cable, but still acceptable. Remember to plug the Cardas connector into the headphone sockets (the metodology is the same as with the bullet plug connectors from Eichmann) and then to solder...

To be precise, Cardas RCA's are made out of brass. The plating can be gold, silver, rhodium or palladium.

Going from the original steel cable to a copper one will change the midrange - it will be smoother. The steel wire is very technical, copper (I can only speak on behalf a DIY DHC cable) is more musical and not as straight-in-your-face like before.

It is not easy if you are building a circut from scratch, the optimizaton process can go on and on.. If you are looking for a company that will do e.g. 10 mil traces then the prices will be high. You have to be insane or at least have to be testing a prototype to order a single pcb.

You only need to redraw the schematics and pcb layout that are already given, the rest is easy. :) Will do it with a little bit of free time (probably next week).
