have you properly burned in the tubes. i have all three of those tube sets and the each took a good 20 to 30 hours of burn-in before the mellowed out on the top end. I pair with the with LCD-2. 

The other question for those who have swapped the LCD-3 pads on to the LCD-2, are they more comfortable and worth the $80 or $100 cost.

Just rolled in the Siemens. A bit bright as has been noted. however easy to tell that these will be the best of the 3 available from ALO.

it is amazing how mych better the $9 Russian tubes sound than the "stock" tubes! I have yet to roll in the Siemens.

i run mine with the ALO The Pan Am connected to the computer and the Portaphile 627x portable. Both have plenty of power to drive them.

Cesar has been easy to work with. Sometime it takes a bit for him to get back but he always has. I assume he builds amps in his spare time (don't know this for sure but assume it to be the case) thus I am sure he gets busy.

    I drive mine with the 627x. Clean to levels way higher than I care to listen to.

my lcd-2s arrived last Wednesday. running them using CLAS-R and a Portphile 627x. Sound great. Vastly superior to my Ultrasone Pro 900s and AKG 701s.   Loving the musicality!

Guitar Center carries Ultrasone, there is also a store in Madison that carries a few different brands. Audio Emporium carries a few Senns and a few Grados. The owner of AE is a very nice guy.

i fly all the time with portable amp and fullsized headphones, carry on. I would never check any of these items. just like a laptop, check it and you have at best a 50/50 chance it will show up on the other end!

I think the sibilance in the 900s is caused by their unholy accuracy. Not sure this can be eq'd out....

The P-51 works great with all my Cans.

I order the ANC7s. Interesting that all the reviews and lotsa of opinion hear is that they do the job great and Audio Technica discontinued them.
